Liverpool Again

Loc Kee, ya lor. Liverpool is more important than Norwich at this stage (Ballcobola, he was not talking about Proton and ChinaCar, he was talking about Norwich. He was saying, if Norwich played against the Da Lian F.C of China, who will win? U un ah?)

Anyway, this week toothless Liverpool has to play against Arsenal. It's alright. We are used to play without striker. And now we are learning to get used to play without mid field. That is fine. We just have to deal with Henry, Viera, Pires etc. ..... ....

Bloody hell, Arsenal is still a strong team even though they are off form.

I have a feeling that Arsenal will use Liverpool to bounce back from their low. Tiu.....we are now the stepping stone.

OK, very simple...bet on Arsenal this weekend. If we lose, at least we are compensated by MONEY.

I like Liverpool. But I need the money....:D

Good morning!!!!!

Tea lady greeted me 'Good morning' this morning when she saw me at the door.

My only reply was 'What is so good about it? huh?'

There is only one reason why I am like that:-

Monaco 1-0 Liverpool.....As if Liverpool didn't have enough injury problems, after just two minutes Luis Garcia went down clutching the back of his thigh, a clear hamstring injury and he was carried off to be replaced by Josemi.........A controversial Javier Saviola goal left Liverpool's hopes of a place in the Champions League second round hanging by a thread as Monaco claimed all three points in the Principality. The Argentinian handled the ball before firing home the second-half winner on a night where almost everything went wrong for the Reds

Liverpool must now look at the feng sui of Anfield. Somethign must have gone wrong. Just when all the fool's fans were about to see the light at the end of the tunnel, ALL THE PLAYERS ARE DOWN ONE BY ONE DUE TO INJURIES.

Tiu lorrrrrrrrrrrr........................

  1. Almost all key players are injured
  2. Your opponent handled the ball and scored
  3. You have no money to buy new players
  4. You fall big when you were climbing up

Sigh....Rafael must be shouting 'Why????? Why Me??? Sky got no eye ahhhhhhhh'

Dear fellow Liverpoolian, lets write off the season and encourage the team to come back next year...(when this numez, Garcia, Cisse and Baros recover).....

Mean while, lets support Chelsea.....

It is a war.....

19-11-2004: AirAsia's Fernandes recognised for entrepreneurial skills
AirAsia Bhd’s chief executive officer Tony Fernandes has been recognised for his entrepreneur skills in turning around a loss-making airline into one of the most profitable and high profiled low-cost carriers in the region.
For his outstanding achievements, the former music man-turned-low cost airline extraordinaire received the BusinessWeek 's Stars of Asia award at the Eighth Annual CEO Forum held in Beijing, China recently. The award was presented by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

If you have been following this blog, you would know that I like to kiss 2 arses: Ah Wi's and Tony's. I think many would agree that Ah Wi is a good leader and there is no question about that.

I like Tony because he is perhaps the only Malaysian entrepreneur who flys the Malaysian flag in Asia. He really is remarkable, only second to Michael Owen.

Malaysia really is short of an international brand.....

Robert Kuok is rich and did his best with Shangri-la and his investments in China. But he is more like a Hongkonger these days and Shangri-la is not the top. Proton is a laughing stock wordwide. Petronas is known worldwide through sponsoring the F1 team but I have no idea why they are doing that. Are they thinking of setting up petrol stations in HK? Genting is more like a domestic giant but did his fair bit in earning Singaporean money. But it is going down hill now and even the Singapore is building their own casino. So it is all sun set for Tan Sri. YTL never quite make it in the international arena. We really have nothing except.....Rashid Sidek who won the Olympic.

Many thinks that there are more Entrepreneurs in Malaysia than Singapore. That is only half true. We only have quantity. We of course have more. We have more people ma. We also have a lot of protected businesess, VCD stalls, and Chicken Rice stalls. Singapore shot themselves in their own foot for making the society so wealthy and noone is willing to take risk and set up business.

It takes a bad boss and lousy pay, to force one to quit and set up his own business. Malaysia has lots of those.

Nevertheless, Singapore still have a lot of good brands. Singapore Airlines is surely one of the best in the world. Ascott is doing well worldwide. Capitaland and Keppel land are doing well in China and making it into India. Singtel is going around the region to buy like Santa Clause. Even a restaurant called Humble House (they serve very nice Shark Fin in Soya Bean soup. No joke, I used to work there as a waiter) invested S$1.8 mm in Beijing recently. Crystal Jade is now a regional brand in Asia.

Even China has this Haeir and TsingTao.......

Fellow Malaysian, Apathy is a sin. Complacency is also a sin! (Tiu lor, I am writing the 7 sins ah?) (KP, this one want to correct ah?)

I don't know how many times I have said that it is a dog eat dog world out there. You really have to go to China, Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong to know whom we are up against. Wei I am not asking you to go there shopping but see how they FIGHT. If you have no money to go, go watch CNBC and Phoenix of Astrol. The people in these countries have one thing in common. They are hungry for success (some are more patriotic than us too). I went to China recently and notice that many young grads in China were so focus during the internal training and they listened raptly during any kind of course that the company sent them to. They are so keen in IMPROVING. In Malaysia? Training is napping time man. Time to go home early man......'Why company sent me to this kind of stupid course ha?'

I tell you the typical life of most Malayisan young guns:-

Guy:- Work then go home play computer games. If not, go drinking. Or go mamak. Or go Video Arcade. Sex, if lucky. Weekend, play mahjong or badminton.

Girl:- Work then go home watch Wa Lai Toi. If bf and husband bags like hell, then sex. Otherwise headache.

No self improvement (except browsing porn) and no nothing.

Ok, this is getting too long liao...until I also want to doze off.....zzzzzzz...zzzzzzz..I still have to go McDonald to do night shift.

Junior (Next time I will not write posting like this. So sian and boring...but this time I have no choice, wrote half way, wash wet my hair liao)

Let's Pray Together

I like my blog because I can write whathever I like because the readership (according to the meter) is around 20 - 30 people a day. I don't feel obliged to perform and I do not shoulder any responsibility. No big boy will also bully me and threaten me. Even when I make mistakes, no one cares. They just take this blog as 'entertainment' more than 'information'. Let me remind you, this is a VERY SERIOUS BLOG.

But i hope today, after reading this blog, you will think about the issue and do whatever you can for our country.

(U can tell that I am going to write something very sensitive)

KUALA LUMPUR: Project Management Consultant (PMC), which supervises and manages government projects, has failed to control costs, designs and scope of those projects, resulting in higher costs, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said. ........

However, he said PMC’s failures should not be “over-generalised.”
Najib said the Government would also have to consider the implications of terminating the services of the PMC because many of the PMC firms were set up and owned by Bumiputra professionals.

I disagree with DPM Najib. I have to say, he does not make sensible comments most of the time. How can you treat this incident differently just because most of the firms are owned by Bumiputra 'professionals' (I would certainly quote this term...there are so many Ali Baba)?

THAT IS NOT THE POINT, MR DPM.

This is not a 'racial' issue. I support the move to 'subsidise' certain ethnic group but subsidiy given to the Bumi should also be given based on MERIT. Otherwise, they will forever take things for granted.

The point is that money has been spent INEFFICIENTLY and THERE IS NO CONTROL. 'GOVERNMENT' is supposed to GOVERN. There are simply NO CHECK AND BALANCES IN OUR CURRENT 'COUNTRY MANAGEMENT' system. In Malaysia, sometimes, someone is bigger than the system like Shaq O'neil.

It is easy to deal with this issue (in principle la. But the politics complicate the issue). Look into the matter and see whose' fault it is. Take legal action if you want to do it properly, or if he is a good friend to many important people, ASK HIM TO RESIGN. Then change the system and implement GOVERNANCE. THAT IS IT! Again, even my cat knows this. If the Government want to keep this thing low profile, they dont even have to apologise and just say that 'things have been rectified'.

In a developed country, that 'person' would have been made responsible for the 'scandal' (at least a scape goat). In our country, the rakyat do not even deserve a scape goat. Many got away unpunished.

I have to pray for a few things this week:-
  1. AH WI will be in the realm for a long long time so that our country will change. I have heard that there is a lot of politic going on and his position might not be as secured as I think. I am worried.
  2. My fellow Malaysian will wake up and do something to make our country a better place to do business.....er......er....and live. Basically, the Chinese and should I say Indian should not be so apathy (KP, spelling correct ah?). Apathy is a sin. This is so important and I have to say it twice - Apathy is a sin.

I have a dream. I dream that one day, black people, yellow people and even 'blacker' people can one day, one day sit together and talk about Liverpool.......

I really do not want to stay here and become a Singaporean.....

Dollar and Cents

I like to talk about the Ringgit issue. Because I think it is a subject with no answer. So, there is no right or wrong. No matter what I write, as long as I write it in English, people will think that I am very smart because I am commenting on MACRO issue. Even my cat (Mao-mi is her name, remember?) has her own view on currency:-

MALAYSIA may abandon its currency’s peg to a falling dollar in the first half of 2005 amid speculation that China will adjust its fixed exchange rate, said UBS AG. China’s buying power in Asia may rise, and the competitiveness of its exports drop, should the country allow its currency, known both as the yuan and the renminbi, to rise. Asian nations then may have less need to depress their currencies to support exports. ..........The ringgit was pegged at 3.8 to the dollar in September 1998 to stem capital flight during Asia’s financial crisis. The move gave Bank Negara room to cut interest rates to a record, helping the economy recover from its worst recession in 41 years. The “fair value” of the Malaysian currency is around 3.39 ringgit to the dollar, Mathur wrote. “A managed float should be the preferred exchange rate regime as it offers the best compromise between predictability and flexibility.” The peg is “no longer relevant,” Mathur said in a phone interview in which he confirmed the details of the report.

The first thing that caught my eyes was the fair value of Ringgit. WOW, 3.39 to a US$......after working in one of the foodcourts in Signapore for years, I have saved some Singapore Dollar. I MUST FIND THE RIGHT TIME TO CONVERT ALL MY SINGAPORE DOLLAR TO RM..........

Why? Because it is cheap to enter or invest in Malaysia now, and when the currency appreciate, I have a double RETURNS i.e appreciation in currency plus my investment returns!

So, I am going to Tao Payoh this afternoon to convert all my S$235.85 into Ringgit and buy er......er.......er..........er.........what can I buy in KLSE ha?

You see, this is my view and my cat's view. If we are thinking like that, ALL THE OTHER CORPORATIONS WOULD THINK OF A SIMILAR LINE. I am bloody sure that this is one of the reasons (ie. upside on currency gain) why GIC or Temasek is looking to invest in Malaysia. VALUE BUY la.....

The Asian Development Bank also commented a few months ago that even though the FOREX reserve of China and Malaysia government has gone up substantially since crisis, this is actually NOT A GOOD SIGN because some could be SPECULATIVE MONEY.

So we have to deal with 2 issues:- We are selling our assets too cheaply due to undervalued currency AND some of the buyer could be speculative.

Our friends in Bank Negara are scratching thier head (and their balls??) what to do next....

Anyway, a lot of speculations have surfaced recently because of the Renminbi (RMB) appreciation pressure. ALMOST all economists have predicted that the Chinese Government will re-peg the Yuan or RMB. This is self fulfilling prophesy. Or, when you tell a lie 100 times, the lie will become a fact.

I have one question to ask. If you are Chinese Government, who has invested BILLIONS of US$ in the US Treasury Bill or Notes, WOULD YOU BLOODY HELL GO AND REVALUE YOUR OWN CURRENCY UPWARD and SUFFER A LOSS IN YOUR OVERSEA INVESTMENTS STRAIGHT AWAY???

I plan to ask Siao Hong when I go to Shanghai next month. Siao Hong is the pretties girl in the Tian Sang Ren Jiang KTV in the Huai Hai Road. I am sure she can give me a satisfactory answer..... :D

The Lion Roars

There isn't any interesting news recently. I am not interested in Collin Powel. I suppose, Samy Vellu looks like him, so i could talk about him:-

KEPALA BATAS: The fate of consultant firm, Project Management Consultant (PMC), which was taken to task for constructing 16 schools and five colleges with serious structural defects, will depend on a report by the Works Ministry. “The Government has discussed PMC's role, and many panellists in the discussion expressed dissatisfaction with several of its projects. “So, the Cabinet decided that the Public Works Department be made to supervise infrastructure projects, instead of PMC. “We will wait for a complete report by (Works Minister) Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu with regard to the role of the PMC,” Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told reporters at his Hari Raya open house at Dewan Milenium yesterday.

So he (Samy lor) is not the culprit? I have blamed the wrong guy in the past few years? Tiu lor....Samy ma very 'mou gu'?

The PMC was a joke, wasn't it? It sounds like a division set up just to 'reap' money. Don't you think so? If you want an example of cronysm (how to spell this ha?) , this is it. Since PMC was set up under the instruction of MOF (ministry of finance), so.....all Dr M, 'Squeky Clean' Annuar who fought against a corrupted person (this is what he said), Hero Tun Daim and even our Ah Wi (our PM lor) should know about it right (All of them have been the Finance Minister ma)?

How come no action was taken? I guess ice that is as thick as 3 ft, is not due to 1 day cold (you have to be a hard core chinese ed to understand this wonderful ah beng translation)

Sometimes you wonder how many dirty things like this are hidden in our system. This is what I call the 'blind spot' in a system, be it in a government or a company. It is a spot which someone knows about it but yet ignore it and could not see it. But the blind spot kills.

This is the test for Ah Wi. I want to see whether he really has the gut to take action or at least rectify some of the damages done.

In the same article of the link, Ah Wi said that the MOF would try to solve the DRB tussle. Weiii, excuse me, I have never seen other government gets involved in a corporate takeover. Let the market settle it la. Let them fight la. You think they are in the primary ah? Two kids fighting and call their parents ah?

Sigh, I guess the real boss behind the 2 tycoons have too much influence lor. Sigh..... ....we are still far from being a transparent country afterall.

Sigh............ can someone please print the following line into car sticker and sell it for RM300 each and bank it into my Maybank account:-

"No more toking, actions wanted!"

He is dead - Edited

I have decided to rewrite this because I feel that it does not offer the perspective I wanted to offer (chit...like I usually do so...)

At funeral and grave sites, Arabs mourn Arafat
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Yasser Arafat's funeral service began with humble prayers Friday and ended with an almost-triumphant procession, his flag-draped wooden coffin set on a horse-drawn gun carriage and followed by a crowd of presidents and kings. Arafat's widow and young daughter cried as they watched the casket being carried to a waiting plane.

This is life. You have to die afterall.

I think Yasser Arafat was probably one of the most controversial persons in history. Some mourned over his death. Some, especially the west might even clap their hand. If they know the tradition of fire cracker, they might go and buy the 12ft.

Personally, i don't like Arafat. He probably did not like me too. He had this cheeky look, like he had a lot to hide. He just did not look like an honest man. I would remember him as one who supported Iraq during the first Iraq war. That was probably the biggest mistake he ever made because he did not know what black and white was.

I would also remember him as someone who had 9 lifes. You know what I mean? If you do a research, you'll find he cheated death soooooo many times.

A very dedicated man who spent his entire life working for his Rakyat. That is how I would remember him.

But I want to say, you can work and sacrifice your entire life for something, but if you are not good enough, you are not good enough. You achieve nothing. I cannot remember a single thing which Arafat has done to make the situation better.

Arafat might be a good fighter (I say 'might' because I really have no idea how good he is in fighting). But he was surely not a good 'ruler'. He does not know how to run a country. If I put him in a corporate world context, He is like the Sales General Manager. He knew nothing but to fight. To run a country/company, you need COO, CFO and CEO. Someone offers the strategy perspective, someone offers the operation efficiency idea, someone does the management, someone does the dirty job, someone play the good guy, someone plays the bad guy. It is pretty tough and you can never do all these alone. When you refuse to tell your wife about your will or weath on your dying bed, you don't deserve any good comments. He was obviously a very paranoid person because he had no 'strategic partner' or close associate to fight the 'war' with him.

He was the CEO, CFO, COO and Sales GM of Palestine. And he made the mess out of it.

The difference between Liu Bang and Xiang Yu is that Liu Bang got a lot of buddies who went through the war with him and they all have different skills. If you want to win the war and rule the world, you need friends. Clever friends.

Rambo is also brave. That is why he suffer all the injuries and did not make it to the chief comandor.

Being brave is not good enough, Mr Arafat.

Good bye Arafat. May God bless you. And don't come back.

Model Confession

Mutu spoke:-

BUCAREST, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Romanian striker Adrian Mutu, dismissed by English Premier League club Chelsea for taking cocaine, said on Tuesday he would continue his career in England or Italy after completing a seven-month ban.
**********
'The English would support me with all my bad and good things,' he added. 'It wasn't the English people who determined me to take drugs. My life was totally unprofessional. So it's up to me to come back.'
*********
'I think I can control myself but I need the full support of this great man who is (my psychotherapist) Peter Kay,' Mutu, said. 'The FA asked for a (drug) test once a month but I asked for weekly tests to go on for two years after my ban expires.'
**********
'What I want to tell to any player tempted to take drugs is that eventually he will lose everything: club, national team, family,' he added.
*********
Mutu, who was wearing his wedding ring at the news conference, said he found peace and support over the past two weeks near his former wife TV presenter and actress Alexandra Dinu and his three-year-old son Mario.

*********
'I ask God not to put my son in the situation to choose one day between taking drugs or refusing them,' Mutu, who had confessed he took drugs because he felt sad and lonely, said.

I cannot tell whether this man is really sincere because he has never played mahjong with Ronaldo, Michael Owen, Beckham and ME. Basically I dun know him well enough. He can also be sincere at this hour, and may not be able to carry his 'speech' out in the long run.

But I must admit that it was one hellova confession and that is the right way:-
  1. Admit your mistake
  2. Apologise
  3. Seek help
  4. Seek strength and courage from someone (God, family etc)
  5. Never do it again

I think Thaksin should learn from Mutu. He should apologise SINCERELY. He really has not handled the Southern Thailand issue well . I might not know very well what's the root of the problem (as a foreigner, you never know the true story) and I do not want to be an arm chair critic (Junior, ^&%#$%*^$ nia seng, you have been doing that in the past few months DAY DAY). But I am entitled to my own view ma.

Using strong forces against the 'rebel' in Southern Thailand is, in my view, not the right way.

There is no reason why you could not invite the other party to sit down and have a cup of tea. Cool down and start talking. Give and take. If they want more autonomy, then give them the damn autonomy as long as they don't seek independence.

Nothing is more important than lifes and I believe more lifes will be taken away in Southern Thailand. And you can never say that 6 million muslims are MINORITY.

Hope this is not another Israel- Palestinian thingie in Asia....

A job is a job

I read a very interesting column recently:-

A few days ago, while I was having my lunch at a crowded hawker centre, a woman appeared and asked, “Excuse me, do you still need these?” I looked up and saw a lady in uniform, pushing a cleaning cart like a hotel maid’s, moving in to clear dishes on my table. She was in her late 50s.
Surprised by her fluency in English, I struck up a conversation with her. The retrenched office assistant and grandmother of two college girls told me she had got used to the work. “It was embarrassing at first. I was afraid of running into former colleagues, but I then told myself I shouldn’t really, since everything has changed so much.”

Food court cleaners don’t come like her. They are mostly imported Indians and Bangladeshis (na na na the article talks about me la :D), thousands of whom are still scattered all over the island, keeping it clean day and night. ....... ..... bla bla bla. .. .........The solution to both problems was obviously to make the work “less” dirty, use clean uniforms and higher tech equipment and, of course, sprucing up the work image ................

After working in Singapore in and out then permanently for quite sometime, I must admit that Singapore is a more mature country than Malaysia. I don't know about you, but I judge the maturity of a country by its attitude. If you have legalised prostitute and football betting, you are mature. ok la, serious la....I think a very important attitude (which Malaysia is lagged behind) is the attitude towards JOB.

In a mature (I am trying to avoid the word developed) country:-

I AM PROUD TO HAVE A JOB. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT KIND OF JOB I HAVE.

If you read the entire article, do not for a moment think that these people take up these jobs because they have no choice. They might not have the choice, but it is also the society's acceptance towards this. If you don't believe me, go and tell you mum or dad now that 'Mum, I want to be a cleaner. Bang! smack....down you go to the floor, you mum might even follow up with an upper cut'.

In Malaysia, a boy that is born in a chinese family cannot wish to be a policeman, not an army, not a rubber tapper, not a security guard, not bus driver, not cleaner, not a teacher not everything. You can only have the ambition to become a doctor, lawyer, accountant and architect. That is all. If you cannot achieve any of these 'term sheet' dreams, then it is ok to go sell VCD or chicken rice, because it is still A BUSINESS.

That is why we have 1.2 million illegal foreign workers in Malaysia and few more millions of legal ones, 230,451 chicken rice stalls and 4,837,384 VCD and ring tones stalls.

We despise someone with a lower status job. The funny thing is that we believe those are dirty jobs.

In England, people are proud of their job. What is your job? 'I am a cleaner', the guy says it proudly eventhough he might make less money then those who live on dough, because he has a job.

In Malaysia, What is your job? 'eh.....I work hmm....in the sanitary industry....but I dun really like it and I am changing it soon...

Boys and girls, be proud of your job. Dont know let others judge you because they are not so clever anyway. Go and be a bus driver, cleaner, rubber tapper etc etc......as long as you are not my daughter and son....

MiTV

MITV Corporation Sdn Bhd says its set-top box, an Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled unit connected to TV antennas for programme reception, would offer more interactive features. “It is basically a PC in a box. It is smarter than the incumbent decoder,” its deputy chairman and chief executive officer Datuk Rosman Ridzwan said. However, the MiTV receiver unit is likely to be priced higher than the decoder deployed by Astro All-Asia Networks Plc.

I never understand why cable tv companies like to offer so many 'interactive' services to their customers. I mean, I know they hope more value added services to bring in extra revenue. But the point is, are these really value added services?? How many will really use these services if you HAVE to pay for it?

Being a good looking, long (ahem..I am running out of adjectives to praise myself), professional myself, I have never used ANY interactive services before. If I want to do anything interactive, I will play with my dick. Ok Ok I am sorry. Cannot be too vulgar....but I am still sick so I am a bit cranky.

If you don't believe me, go and ask 10 people nearest to you now.

'Oii, you use Astro's interactive services ah?'

I bet 50% of the people will say 'What interactive services?', and another 49% will say 'No', and get back to what they were doing. Basically, NO ONE CARES.

To me, cable TV is bloody simple. If you are a housewife, the most important thing is 'Wa Lai Toi', if you are a yuppie or youngsters, then you want MTV. If you are male, all you need is ESPN. The rest, leave them to the ladies who do not have a date.

If EPL is not showing on ESPN, I'll bet my last single sen that about 50% of the current subscriber of Astro will terminate their subscription.

ok ok, what kind of interactive services will be feasible? I can only think of a handful but none of them is legal:-

1. Empat (tiu lor, I am not even sure if this is the correct way to spell 'Four' in malay) Ekor - First cable tv must provide 4D, Toto and 3+1 results for free (my mum's request). Then, Astro can be an agent to take bet online.

2. Ascort Service - First, shows some exotic picture and buttons and get all the male aroused. When the other organ overtake the brain, they will buy anything online, including 45 years old from papua new gurney

3. Friendster - This one targets youngster. Let them chat online and do all the cyber sex they want.

If Astro could do all these, then Liama's life will be fantastic la....

It is all over, isn't it?

Aikksss... it seems like Ah Bush has won the US election after Kerry failed to swing Florida and Ohio (not final)....

So it is all over. The enough said election, closest ever election in the history of US (as proclaimed by the MEDIA), seems less drama than it was anticipated.

There was no surprise in this election and American remain the unpredictable bunch. Sometimes I feel that American just enjoy doing the OPPOSITE of what the rest of the world wishes. I think this is called style. Rightly so, who the heck is this rest of the world?

I am not dissapointed with the results. I have swung my position like a bitch in the none-of-my-business election. It gives me a chance to see how a country can turn around a trillion dollar deficit. I can also find out how Bush could finish the job in Iraq. I also enjoy watching Bush on the TV. He is very funny. I have been using this phrase 'a bunch of folks...' like crazy recently. Thanks to Bush. I have no doubt that Bush is a good man. It is just that Clinton was too outstanding and make Bush looks stupid (Or he is indeed stupid?).

Kerry is a not an exciting challenger, at least he did not have any blowjob stories to sell. Boring Boring democrat.

So, what have we got? Hillary Clinton the next US president in another 4 years time?

I hope she could 'chiak' one of the interns as a revenge. Must be fair ma...

I am thinking of immigrating to New Zealand

PUTRAJAYA: A high-level Malaysian delegation has requested for talks with the Thai government to get first-hand information on last week’s incident in southern Thailand that left 87 people dead. It is learnt that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar were to be part of the delegation to Thailand but the Thai government has asked Malaysia to defer the visit.

Sometimes I wonder what have happen to our world. 87 people die of suffocation (or almost all of them) and yet you still feel that apathy of the society.

If you ask around your work place (if you work in the gas station like Liama, you have no choice but to try your Bangladeshi workers lah), see how many of them are interested in what happened in Thailand? They are likely to know more about malaysian idol than anything else.

That is the world we live in these days.

I think it is all Bush's fault. He makes casualties look like just another statistics. I am thinking of switching back to my original position. I am hoping that Bush will lose because he really made a very serious mistake. And that mistake is not forgivable. Period.

I was thinking of writing more on the Thai incident because it would really have a great impact on Malaysia if it is not handled well. It will be like another Israel or Somalia or Russia incident. We have too many of those racial or religious driven hatret. And looking at the way Thaksin is handling this Southern Thailand thing, I am more inclined to believe that there are more problems coming.

But when 87 people die in a tragedy, you don't want to link it to KLSE.

That is they minimum respect which one can pay.

Michael Owen - You'll never run alone

I am not as pussy as my good friend - PeG. She was devastated after Michael decided to leave Liverpool and joined Real Madrid for 8 million pound (she said it was too cheap as if the money goes to her).

I always like Michael Owen. I will continue to like him until the seas dry up and the rocks rot (this is chinese). I sould like a faggot now.

Michael has what it takes to be a role model in football. He is very similar to Gary Lineker, Alan Shereer (my knowledge in football does not go that far in history and anyone older than Gary, I wouldn't know. Yes, KP and Y1, me toking about you).

All 3 of them take care of themselves really well. They don't drink, they don't go to the brothel, they are not violent on the pitch, they train hard, they eat what an athelete should eat, they are determined etc etc.

Many say that there are better strikers around in the EPL. But if you think about it, besides Henry, WHO is better than Michael Owen? I would only say there are many strikers of similar class such as Van Nis, Rooney, Anelka etc.

But I think Michael has got the gut. He knew that it would be tough in Real Madrid. When you have to play along side Ronaldo and Zidane, you know it would be tough. He decided to go anyway, knowing that he would not be the automatic striker and it would be a challenge. He thought he could do better when there is competition.

I admire that.

Next time when I have a daughter, I will name her 'Michael'.

I hope she will like it.
