Focus on solution...

Standard and Chartered says:-

China: grain shortages to fuel global inflation

  • China is facing grain shortages in coming years
  • Domestic grain prices have risen sharply this year, and will increase further
  • Rising grain imports plus historic-low world reserves will push up world grain prices
China could face a food shortage in the future. How should China deal with it? (1) Reform the agricultural sector to increase the production. (2) Increase imports. Both solutions will push grain prices higher.

I have a better idea.

[To the tune of "Row Row Row Your Boat]

Read, read, read the book,
read the book again,
and if at first you don't succeed,
try it once again.

Eat, Eat, Eat some meat.
each and every day,

Count, count, count your carbs,
each and every one!
If you do, you'll surely see
your pounds are on the run!

Rafidah

Remember the post 'Oil Price ah..Oil Price'? It seems like I was not the only who suspect that someone is hiding the oil....

THE current spike in oil prices is due to hoarding by India and China and this has created a shortage in the market, a senior energy market specialist said.

“The demand numbers (of India and China) are running double the expected growth rate and double the trend that we have seen in the past few years. That increased demand is not really a demand. It’s a type of hoarding,” he said.

“India. We don’t think of it as a smoke-stacked economy and was not as industrious as China or (South) Korea. China appears to be doing the same thing as well. Buying is fairly significant and it has created a vicious cycle. The question is: So, where is the oil disappearing to?

The difference between this SPECIALIST and my theory is that, I still think it is Rafidah who hides all the oil (seconded by Liama). If you don't believe, go and take a look at Rafidah, it has to be her.... Just take a look at her size

Inflation Inflation Inflation

Asian markets will likely rally on the back of easing oil prices, with technology counters taking the limelight as sentiments improve on the oversold sector. Oil prices overshot last week because of political events, in my view, and are likely to retreat from their highs this week.

The more I read about economics, the more confused I am. I am CONVINCED that economists themselves do not know what toking them. They are worse than Liama.

Met with one chief economist recently. She said that more and more people are believing that the rising oil prices is likely to cause 'stagflation' rather than 'inflation'. Ka Ka Ka Ka...u dun know what 'stagflation' is??? ......... Neither do I. ...:(

Her argument is, companies are not able to pass through the higher energy costs to consumer. So the company has to absorb the costs. Hence, inflation has not gone up substantially and will NOT do so (er....er...why would prices go down then?).

I like the cheif economist. That is because she is quite attractive. She showed of her Calvin Klein sport bra some more. I like that. That is why I was not paying much attention to what she said about stagflation.

But I dont agree with her. I was tempted to ask her out......and show her the 'economy'...

My view on economy is simple and I have no theory:-
  1. Singapore Airlines are charging me higher and higher price
  2. My chicken rice has gone up 30% (I am trying to convince you that bird flu is caused by rising oil price)
  3. If you have spoken to taxi driver recently and stupid enough to ask him 'uncle, how's business' - the bugger will start ^%$^&%#*^&^*&$(*^*(%(&*(#(*#....
  4. Winter is coming (not that I care...) and I dun believe the demand will not go up even higher and I am interested to see what would happen to inflation....

Inflation Inflation Inflation. It will come like a flying dagger......dun say I never warn you :D

Perisai.....A Reluctant Update

Just as I have retired myself from tokking kok, my taikor, Junior (yeah, the one with small balls) has asked his 'horse son' to provide some updates on exit strategy for Perisai.

Weeiiii, fulat, you just bought yesterday and u wanna exit liao? Boh Sui Meh?

Fyi, this time I 'whacked' Perisai kau-kau. Either one of us must die bcos in trading, lu boh si, wa si.

I have to confess that I have got 30 lots liao bot at 0.675, 0.685 (yesterday) and 0.685 (today) - I hope syndicates dun read your blog. Anyway, u r not sarong party boy, who the heck will be interested, tioh boh?

Ok, a little on Perisai since the market's opened liao. This is a 15-minute snapshot of Perisai up to yesterday.

Tiu lor, I dun know how to upload an image.

So, I leave it to your imagination, ok?

The resistance levels are the following 0.75, 0.80 and 0.85 - these levels of previous congestion ranges suggest some stale bulls to be taken out in order for the stock to move higher - it would be clearer if u can look chart.

Since I am a tape-reader, those levels serve as a guide for me to decide on my trades bcos momentum (or lack of one) dictates the direction of the movement. So, unless, u trade live, dont crack your heads (ya, both of them) over them.

As for the daily reading of Perisai, yesterday was a bullish reversal and based on today's PV analysis, there is no reason to exit it as at 245pm. It shud trend higher this afternoon, failing which, I will be reducing exposure at 0.705.

Ming Bai Mah? (tiu lor, now I sound like you)

I hope you win silver.....

How do you know that the US foreign policy has failed?

I dont' know about you. I am hoping Michael Phelp will lose to the Big FOOT Australian Ian. Mike is a nice guy. The problem is, he is from America. Nothing is wrong with America, the problem is that George Bush is the president. Nothing is wrong with G.W. Bush, the problem is his brain.

"If you are not with us, you are against us" he said

Ok, I am now against you. I hope all the atheletes of US will win SILVER...kekekeekek

If you are as old as me, you grew up thinking US is the good guy. USSR (that is the old Rusia lah, moron) (If you dun know this, it means that you are very young. And I hate you), is the bad guy. That is the perception of COLD WAR. A very cold war because National was the aircon manufacturer then. I used to wish that US will win more medals in the Olympic. I dun know why. Maybe because we have similar flag.

But it is not the same today.

I hope you'll win lots of SILVER....

Perisai...hand is very near the knife

Perisai....I am still not in yet.....in this kind of market, patience pay off. I don't intend to make the maximum profit. I only need a few bucks to pay off the Tai Yee Loong.

If you are still fifteen, sixteen (guai lor, you dun understand ler), there are 2 things which you could do:-
  1. If you trust my source, you will accumulate at around 0.65 to 0.655 level. Because if the syndicates/insiders are still interested in whacking the stock, they will not allow the stock to fall below this level. Otherwise the Bollingand band (I cannot spell this lah. but you kinow what I mean lah if you punt stock) will become wide open (I dun have chart to verify this but I bet it will) like the lass legs. Then very hard to convince people to come back to screw this little Perisai again. So, buying at this supposedly consolidation level of 0.65 - 0.655 could be a good idea if you BELIEVE in the bastard who gave this tip and your balls are as big as donut.
  2. If you dun really trust the stock and you are a sensible person with SMALL balls (I look down on you), then don't do anything and wait for the stock to stabilise for a while and wait for the so called black out...no no...BREAKOUT. Then u make smaller profit. But obviously, you take less risk.

Obviously, I have small balls......

Michael Owen - You Will Walk Alone

I could not sleep well last nite, reasons being: 1) My ah beng dearie, asked me to simply post any kok, I don’t know what to write and I feel too stressed; 2) The confirmation of the news that Michael Owen is leaving my favourite football club – Liverpool FC.

It’s hard to bear. After watching our very own wonder kid played for 7 years, to me, MO is the synonym of Liverpool. Remember how our heroic sportsman scored ‘that goal’ against evil-cheating-Argies in 1998 world cup, and how he trashed the Frankenstein-look-alike Olivier Khan during a match against Germany and in Super Cup, and how he ran past Tony Adams to score one of the goals that in the end, beat Liama’s Arse to lift the FA cup (though our second goalkeeper, Henchoz, contributed a lot).

I’m devastated. I feel hurt. I felt betrayed. After so long of continuous support, even when he was not performing, he chooses to leave the club despite renewed optimism, in that way, at that price.

After many tubs of Baskin Robbins ice-creams this morning, I feel better now.

Only time will tell if this is a loss to Liverpool, though I really think it will be MO’s. Just look at the time when Liverpool sold Kevin Keegan to SV Hamburg; and when Ian Rush left us to join Juventus at their peak. Keegans’ absence makes room for Dalglish to come to Anfield, and Dalglish has became one of the greatest legends of our club. Ian rush’s departure sparked another player too-Aldo. Then what happened? Rush failed spectacularly and later came back to join Liverpool.

I certainly think that this is a good time for some changes in the club, no more predictable football where you see Gerard do long pass, and MO run fast fast and scored kind of thingy. This could be a very good start for Liverpool. Baros and Cisse (and perhaps pongolle too) could be a great strike team. In fact, MO was kinda stale these two years after all those magnificent moments I mentioned in the above. So, no great loss, really, I believe we can change our play approach from now onwards and became a lot more better than when MO’s with us.

So, my last message to MO: from now on, you will be erased from my heart, and you will walk alone now. May you be overshadowed by Raul, Ronaldo and Morientes in Real Madrid. May you rot warming your ass on the bench. Wish to see you in Manchester City in 2 seasons’ time.

You all smell something sour? Damn! I think I need another tub of Baskin Robbins... :(

Good bye, Michael Owen, thanks for being a loyal servant all these years. Adios Amigo.

Perisai...catch the falling knife?

Perisai...a good friend of mine asked me to look at Perisai. I trust him. But that does not mean that I will jump and rush into buying it. He asked me to buy when it was around 73 sen. The lookchart did not seem good at that time. Another good friend of mine, who is a monkey, tot me this - Never buy a stock before looking at the lookchart...

How to play this Perisai? Very simple, wait until the price settle down into a range. Then only decide.

No point being hero. I am not George Bush.

You'll never walk alone

What is Junior's full time job? Tok kok

What is Junior's part time job? Kick people into the Liverpool fan club (read this in Cantonese...)

I am really looking forward to the new EPL season (after many many seasons). We finally got rid of the idiot - Houllier. I am NOW calling those Liverpool running dogs (to arsenal especially) to come back...come back lahh...come back laahhh...

Did Liverpool play well against the Austrian? Hell they did! Did they defend after their one goal lead? Hell they did not! Why? Because HOULLIER is no longer the manager! Do I know about this Rafael Benetez? I don't. I just know that NOONE is worse than HOULLIER.

Enough celebration. Can we win the EPL this year? Maybe not. But I think we have enough quality to be an interesting team. My maths is simple. Michael Owen (he will not go one lah...who wants him???? Real Madrid? Get real lah, they have like 15 strikers already). Chelsea? come on, they loan Crespo to MPPJ. Barcelona? They just signed er...er...Eto, I think. Who else would sign Michael Owen??

Michael Owen (and his agent) better gets REAL. He can only be better if he stays in Liverpool for another 2 years (then he can go). Why? Because there is COMPETITION now. An idiot will never improve if he knows that he is the automatic choice!

Actually what am I talking about? I side tracked. Actually, I wanted to say this:-

Michael Owen can score 40 goals (somehow he will score)
Cisse can score 40 goals (he is good)
Baros can score 40 goals (golden boot you know, dun play play)
Gerrard can score 30 goals (he just scored 2)
Kewel can score 20 goals (I think he can)
Cinema Pongolle can score 10 goals (his real name is Sinama)
Riise can score 10 goals
Hamann can score 10 goals
Diouf can score 0 goal (must mention his name and Traore to remind you guys that we still have some bad blood to clear after selling Mule Heskey, Murphy (he is CRAP after screwing the wife lah))

You see, you see, we can score nearly 200 goals!!!!! (Junior, get real lah...people are laughing at you...)

This topic will be continued before the match this Saturday....

WE ARE AGAINST SPURs...and they are MICKEY MOUSE (they have got new coach...so have we...)

Now, to all my fellow Liverpoolian (short form for Liverpool Ah Lian), learn this song...:-

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Buying a property

My friends like to ask my opinion before they buy a property. I think they just want to tease me.

My first property was a condo unit in Pandan Height. Bot it for RM 138,000 and today's market value is approx. RM 145,000. 5% capital returns for almost 5 years. Hmmm...that is not too bad. 1% return pa is better than nothing. Deoh bo? (deep down in my heart %$^&#*&$*&&#*)

How about the rental yield? Well, I rent it out for RM 700 per month, hence it is approx. RM 8,400. After deducting maintenance charges (well, I am a law abiding citizen), net rental income isw RM 7,200 (er...er....but I did not declare tax though...), the rental yield is approx. 5.2%.

I really cannot say that it is a good investment even after I refinanced the condo at a much lower rate (previously, I borrowed from Citibank and they are..er.e.....er..........).

I really dare not give any advice on buying property but I can certainly tell you the wrong way of doing it:-
  • Don't buy a Talam property if you want to invest. Talam's product is not investment grade. Not many want to rent their properties because they are crap.
  • Don't buy something that is cheap on a hill (Pandan Height for example), because it is really not a height.
  • Don't buy a lower class condo (ahem...like I said, RM 140k is low cost to me) for investment because your neighbours, who are likely to work or own a KTV, are unlikely to help increase the value. The swimming pool will turn into a pond where you can rear fish
  • Don't spend on lawyer fees, stamp duty etc if possible, get teh developer to foot it
  • Don't q overnight for a property. It is silly and you need to go toilet

Learning from my first experience, my second purchase was better. I think I would make money. I bot a RM 179,999 condo in Bukit Jalil before the Stamp Duty exemption expired last year. Why?

  • I am bullish on Bukit Jalil. I think it has a potential to become a IN place one day - good location, near the science park, good highways, a lot of green, LRT etc.
  • The development is low density - 300 units for 5 acres of land
  • The floor plan is good. SQUARE with no stupid pillars and corners.
  • It has 3 + 1 rooms - easier to rent out
  • No stamp duty and my unit is cheaper because it is facing west. I can fix this by doing some simple renovation.

OK, why am I writing all these?

GOOD NEWS, EXCELLEN CONDO FOR SALE in BUKIT JALIL. GOOD LOCATION, GOOD UNIT. NOT NEG. at RM 500,000!!!! Hurry!, call 1-800-Condo and make an appointment with Junior

I am not a leader of Muslims but a Muslim leader of all Malaysians

Today, I feel like kissing arse. (Liama, not yours, you sit down)

I am talking about our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (I even wrote his entire name to respect him…I think my career will go very far).

I am very relief that our PM allowed the ‘Passion of the Christ’ to be shown in Malaysia. Not because I like Mel Gibson (I like Pamela Anderson more). This little gesture shows that he respects the rights of non-Muslims in Malaysia. What is the better way to show the world that he practices what he preaches - moderation?

He even got the ball to address the barbecue night of the World Council of Churches (ok ok…not barbecue, conference.....) as chairman of the OIC and was not afraid of PAS using it as another excuse to hantam him.

He even wept after he spoke on the pains of our world (no no…he did not announce his retirement and Rafidah did not rush to the stage to say ‘no no no’. She did not have the ball..er….er…she should not …)

Besides his tough stance on corruption which everyone keeps saying, saying and saying and saying again and again and again and again (ok ok…Junior, we’ve got the idea), he requested everyone to respect another religion. He encouraged the muslim to mix with others. He took no offence when the joker challenged him for UMNO presidency. He mends our bad relationship with Singapore. His cleverness in sending only medical crews to Iraq (as if they won't die there though). He asked rakyat to be fussy with services. He showed a little gesture to Nik Aziz (not the middle finger). He showed his commitment to rakyat and efficiency. He hired non bumi for high posts in GIC. He published the phone number of MPs. His vision to set up a SPY agency to spy on China (neh…the Universiti Malaya’s Institute of China Studies leh) He flew to US and came back in one piece. He uses chopstick. He says terima kasih to reporters ……(I went too far issit?....)

What? You are not convinced yet? Ok, I let you compare our PM with another ladder (I really don’t want to use the word leader for him):-

On the increase of crime rate, our PM ordered the formation of a parliamentary select committee (in fact, it would be even better if the TV shows how these jokers work in parliament) to look into the spate of vicious crimes in the country and reiterated his call to the people to help the authorities clamp down on criminals.

On the KL floods, this is what our Samy Vellu said “Those people who clog drain and throw their rubbish into the river should be JAILED”

At that point, Simon Cowell cannot tahan already. He stood out and told Samy:- “You can’t lead, you can’t decide and you took money for highways. What do you want me to say?

I already gave my best, and I have no regrets at all”, Samy protested.

We want you to lead your people out of their woods. Not try your best to take money

Not the same meh?” Samy asked

Ok, enough said.

Lastly, on this National Day, I salute you, our PM. I will continue to pledge my loyalty to the country. I will not sleep with Singaporean girl.

(er…er…Junior….today is the national day for Singapore wor…Malaysia one is 31 August…..)

(……………………not the same meh?)

(er……er…..not really lor…u think you samy velu ah?)

(er…..er……..I am an early bird)

Oil price ah...oil price....

Asian stocks fell on Friday as oil prices resumed their record-breaking rally, underscoring investor concerns that high energy prices will hurt corporate earnings. The share market falls followed the biggest drop in U.S. stocks in nearly a year.

Oil hit $44.73 a barrel, the highest since New York crude futures were launched in 1983, after a fire at a big U.S. refinery underlined the vulnerability of supplies at a time when global demand is accelerating at its fastest pace in more than 20 years. (Reuters 6 Aug 2004)

I went to pump my petrol full tank this morning. If they allowed me to bring my bath tub, I would have brought it along. I am not that old, I did not live in the early 80's era where oil price was so high (at that time the GDP per capital of Suadi was US$ 30 k...now around US$ 6k...dai sei). I am more used to the US$ 22 a barrel pricing.

Now, it is a whopping $44.73.

I notice that while the financial world was talking about this oil thing like there is no tomorrow, Malaysian media seems 'bo chap' with the increase of oil price. Except a few lines, no major commentary was made. Issit because we are net oil exporter? or we are too ignorant of the threat? My fellow punters are still talking about stock and fingers damn itchy to punt.

I don't know about you. I sideline. I am damn worried about this oil price increase (Petrol. Not Rafidah). The impact on the world and China will one day come to haunt us.

Let's listen to what some have to say:-

UBS Walburg:- The worry is that higher energy costs are sapping U.S. household buying power. Higher oil prices, which rose about $10 per barrel in the year ended July, certainly hurt
consumers. Jim O’Sullivan has estimated that each $10 per barrel rise in oil prices lowers household spending power by $35 billion (-0.4%). And prices are already up $4 per barrel from the July average, threatening another .15% drop in spending power. (I also read another article saying that every $10 increase in oil price, the economy GDP is affected by 0.5% or some shit like that...)

Asia Times:- Even for net oil exporters such as Malaysia, the strong export prices of crude oil have posed as a double-edged sword. Malaysia has reaped huge foreign earnings from oil exports since the last half of 2003, but it also has been saddled with huge internal subsidy bills as the prices of refined products have escalated in world markets. Malaysia spends about US$2.4 billion in subsidies each year, which allows the government to keep oil prices at relatively low levels compared with prices in other countries in the region. But all that is about to change, as the government announced last week that it plans to raise oil prices, the second in a matter of weeks, by cutting subsidies in order to channel the funds to finance other development projects. (U know why we don't care? well, because non of us know how our national budge was drafted and spent)

Bank Negara Malaysia:-Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz also told the press when announcing the first- quarter GDP growth last month that the impact brought about by high crude oil prices on the country's economy was expected to be “minimal” given that Malaysia was a “marginal net oil exporter”. (she knows nuts)

Tony Fenandas:- I hope the oil price goes to $60 a barrel. We are HEDGED. I repeat:- We are hedged. Control Station, did you read me? We are hedged! (he visited too many airports)

Sammy Vellu:- How do we make money from this?

Mahathir:- Kita orang Malaysia, bukan orang ganas. If the world need more ....apa ni....petrol, we produce more laah..we can work harder.....we will not keep the oil price high for nostalgia reason......apa ni...(I deleted 200+ words)

Ling Liong Sik:- What oil price?

Having said that, my fingers and toe are all crossed. I still believe that the oil price will come down despite fundamentally someone said it is heading $50 a barrel. (Junior, u did your research ah? ...er....er...no...I just guess)......

Someone must be hiding all the oil....is it you Rafidah? is it you????

Junior :D
