Would it make a difference if I wear my Hugo Boss suit?

Why is she more friendly to the guailor sitting next to me? She asked him if she would like to have some wine before the meal. She gave him an extra smile as the bonus. She did not serve me the water.

She did not even ask or look at me. The guailor is not even good looking.

Here I am, sitting here with my old fake T-shirt from Thailand and reading a novel. Sure, i look very shabby and ugly. But madam, I would like to argue that i pay the same price for the ticket. My ugly look should not deter you from serving me with the same standard your airline preaches to the world.

I started wondering. If I come back with my new Hugo Boss and look 'expansive', would she be nicer? If I have done a lot of good things to the society donating money and time to help the poor, would it make a difference?

Okay, I understand. I better come back either as a guailor or dress up in suit. I have learnt.

If you bot the newspaper this morning, you would have read so many different versions of top 10 news in 2005, sport la (wei, remember Liverpool won the champion league...he he he), world news la, malaysia news la, entertainment news la. Now, I am giving you the Junior's version.....how nice? but I dun have that many (ie. 10) this year ehhh....ehhh...because I dun get paid if I list 10, but I do have a couple of experience which really ehh....got me thinking, I would say...

1. Do you know this bastard call Rain? neh...the super star from Korea leh, my wife is sooooooooooooo into this bastard that she forced me to watch this scene of Rain protecting this girl from being beaten up by some mobster more than 10 times. But I am not talking about him. I am talking about the Korean farmers who demonstrated when the WTO wes held in HK. While I dont understand why they are complaining, because they are fucking making a more than 10 thousands US$ a year, and the China farmers are making less than US$ 100 p.a., I dont understand all those hoo hah about the korean's problem. Anyway, I was very impressed with the way the demonstration was held. Few thousands Korean farmers were having this stand off with the HK police, not a single shop (Causeway bay is one of the busiest highstreet I hve ever been and they have the highest rent I have ever heard off...) were looted and not a single passerby were involved and blamed by these farmers, THESE farmers are really PROFESSIONAL, if I may say so (they even built their own temp toilet to keep the place clean.....!!???). The HK police were also quite amazing. They had to deal with these korean bastards (from the HK police point of view certainly) and they were even more professional. When the korean farmers were taking a break ie. using mineral water (will the chinese farmers use chinese tea??) to wash their eyes, the HK police did not take advantage of the situation and charge into the demonstrators and beat the shit out of them. They took a step back, got themselves organised and got ready for the next round of charge by the Korean farmer...... i was asking myself, how could they be so pro?

Can you think of a more professional ways of demonstrating? both from the Korean farmer side adn the HK police side?

Can you imagine what would happen in Malaysia? ..........We still have a long way to go despite having the SECOND tallest tower in the world........

2. In 2005, I was also quite happy with the Taiwan election. The stupid nation FINALLY woke up and vote for the right party. I am not saying that Kuamingtang is a good party. But I cannot stand the president Bien's party DPP AT ALL. AND finally the DPP lost like there was no tomorrrow....... this confirmed my 'battered wife' theory - you know women are strange, once they got married, they think they have this obligation to serve this one man for the entire life. Even if the husband beat her everyday, but as long as one day he treats her nice ehhh...for example beat her using hanger instead of the usual belt, she feeeels that HE IS TREATING Her soooooo nicely that day and she will tell others that her husband loves her soooo much the following day. However, if one day she realllllllllllllllly cannot tahan (ie. cannot stand it anymore), she will divorce and never look back and perhaps cut off her husband testicle. This is why the taiwanese decided to vote against them.....

The only thing which I want to tell the Taiwanese is that 'What the fuck has taken you sooooooooooooo long? Since 2000 leh!!!!'

(they probably are thinking, Junior, what the fuck has it got anything to do with you...)

3. I have no doubt of the 'waking up' of China. But I also see a lot of problems with the nation. Their legal system is very very messed up. This is the typicall 'catch 22' situation, you follow this law, you are in violation of another...... I was in Beijing and our beloved Mahathir was giving his speech on the Business Week CEO Forum (I stole someone's pass and went in to watch him...), he said exactly the same thing. Sometimes, you have to say that despite Mahathir being a weird fella, he really has brain. Somehow, you can tell the real problem of the country even though he has never worked there before.

But I hope the China dun change their criminal law implementation too fast. I dun want to lose my RMB 500 massage with a HAPPY ENDING in the Four Seasons hotel......

I want to talk about Malaysia in the next post.....but I have too much of this Carbenet wine and got high with this Robusto cigar...wahhhhh too high to write leh....

Obviously he misses his wife. And I find that sweet.

Silver Lining

Sometimes, there is a little bit of sunlight on a rainy day....

Yesterday was a good day for me. Although I got a flu and had to work in the afternoon. But there are a couple of things that kept me happy:-

Liverpool beat Wigan 3:0.....finally Couch scored!!! I quite like this guy. Sometimes, you need some luck to score. Luck has deserted him for more than 24 hours on the pitch. He has contributed so much to the club in terms of 'assist' but never quite did enough to score. He finally got a lot of luck and scored. The second goal was clear. No dispute. Good for him.
KMT beat the shit out of DPP in Taiwan. I have never seen such a stupid president before in my life. I think even my cat can be a better president than Chen Shui Bian. He is really useless. I have no idea of what the Taiwanese have done to deserve a stupid president like him. Those who voted for him 2 years ago should really appologise to other Taiwanese
My wife was here for the weekend...she obviously did not read my blog. So I am still alive....:D

Life could be tough. But if you sit back and take a break and start counting your blessings, you might find that it has not be that bad afterall...

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

I think every man wants to marry only one woman. He wants to protect, love and take care of HIS woman. That is why it is so important that a man MUST NEVER break the trust of his woman. Therefore, pls for the sake of your wife, never let her catch you cheating....:D

That is why I never store the KTV's girls telephone number in my phone. You either remember it or you save it in your blackberry with 3 layers of password with 17 characters and 6 numerica.

That is why, when you 'roll' (eh...it means having an affair), you must emphasise on Quality but not Quantity. Once you find some good rolling girl, stick to them. BE LOYAL. The smaller the number, the lower the probability of being caught.

Never use your own phone to call or sms. Sms is the most stupid thing (even stupider than taking a picture of your rolling girl using your phone). Please use your colleagues's phone to call. Write letter, or release a dove to contact her. PLS never sms.

One more thing, if you want to roll. Pls do not tell your friend and boast about it. Sex is a very special thing. You should not talk about it. ..........

Ahem.....I think after this post, I will know whether my wife has been reading my blog...:D

After staying in HK for slightly more than 4 months, I finally have a chance to go back to Singapore to see my wife.

(p/s: Kinda embarrassing – I am Malaysian. Hence, strictly speaking, I cannot say I ‘go back’ to Singapore. It should be ‘go to’)

I am also applying for leave from 21 Dec 05 to 2 Jan 2006 to GO BACK to Malaysia. Can you believe it, we are coming to the end of 2005…..just in case, it is already NOVEMBER.

So scary – in the beginning of 2005, I did not have a ring on my finger. I did not have to fill in my ‘spouse’ name. I was having a good time in Singapore. I could go to the beach on Sat late morning for beer. I did not have much traveling. I see my then ‘girlfriend’ everyday. I kept all my salary to myself. I could blog almost everyday. I bet on football every Saturday. I got excited when my company sent me to Thailand to look at a deal. My mum was ironing my shirt everytime she came to Singapore. I flirted with Peg, wanting to know what was the color of her bra. I could have 3 drinking sessions in a week…….

You know what I am gonna bitch about, don’t you? Life has changed. For better for worse, it has changed.

I like year end. It makes me feel very old but at the same time, I usually look back the past one year and see how well (or badly) I have done. I like to do that especially on the plane, when I can see from 30,000 ft high. It makes me feel like I am very clever…..

2005 will soon be history. Have you done enough to give yourself a ‘pass’ for this year?

Just to give you an example, I have been receiving 300+ work related emails a day....I just spend past 1 hour sorting them to the correct folder.......

I hate plagiarism, I think plagiarism is almost equivalent to emotionally 'raping' the orginator. People who plagiarize are losers who are 'wanna-be' but never get there. But instead of admiting of their short coming, they decided to 'cheat' and pretend that they are 'already-there'. Anyway, let me continue my post ....

IT WILL be etched in my memory forever - the day Singaporeans forgot their manners.
For 10 hours two weeks ago, they made me feel like I did not exist unless they wanted me to fetch, carry or serve.

A cheery 'good afternoon' invariably fell on deaf ears. Nevermind that the people I was greeting were often smartly-dressed men or well-groomed women.

Their reactions rarely differed. They either looked right past me or seemed engrossed in fiddling with their mobile phones.

Yes, life as a sales assistant and waiter sucks, to put it bluntly. Why? Because the Singapore customer - regardless of race, language or religion - is invariably surly.

A smile is rare. Eye contact is non-existent. And for the few who say 'thank you', 'please' or 'excuse me', the words are often droned out robot-like, with no smile or eye contact.
Most awful are those who thrust the shoes they like under your nose and utter curtly the size they want under their breath.

But those who demean service staff most are the ones who crook their fingers and beckon you over. What poor breeding, but like they say, the customer is always right.
So I did as beckoned and I got her four pairs of shoes. She liked none of them and strode off without a word.

Her behaviour is typical, say the other sales assistants at the Charles & Keith shoe shop in Wisma Atria.

Of course, I had earlier tried to prove them wrong. Standing at the shop entrance, I greeted each customer with an enthusiastic 'good morning'.

After an hour of being ignored, I gave up.

It was not much better inside the shop. A 20-something woman with a whispery voice was being drowned out by the shop's music and background noise.

So I asked her politely to repeat her shoe size. She did so curtly and with a frown.

After five hours, I totalled the Greet, Smile and Thank (GST) response from customers. The result was dismal. Nine out of 10 customers I greeted ignored me. At least half did not say 'please' or 'thank you'. Even fewer had a warm smile.

I went away with new-found respect for those who serve and sell day after day. Because the work is no walk in the park.

More than 12,000 pairs of shoes were crammed in a stuffy storeroom about the size of the living room in an HDB flat.

Reaching for a box on a top shelf required the skills of an acrobat almost, as I searched for a toehold on a lower shelf and balanced a few shoe boxes in my other hand.

The aisles had room only for one person to walk sideways. At peak times, with four or five sales assistants stepping up and down the shelves, it was not uncommon for boxes to come tumbling down.

I also learnt very quickly to get more than one colour - say black and brown - and two sizes of a shoe, because without fail, the customer is going to say, 'the brown also quite nice, hor'.
For customers with one foot larger than the other, be ready to provide three pairs for every design they want to try on.

After five hours of clambering, kneeling, bending and packing, I found little to smile about as my leg muscles ached.

Waiting at tables was not any easier. I started as a 'runner', serving what people ordered.
Even though Fish & Co in Novena Square was a casual dining restaurant, the attention to detail was mind-boggling to me.

A spoon is placed on the left side of the plate for spaghetti or fettuccine because most customers are right-handed and will use a fork to twirl the pasta.

Pour a customer's drink away from him so that a spill will not splash on him.

Taking orders was traumatic, because there were so many things to remember: The soup of the day, the daily promotion, what each dish contained and how each dish was prepared.

My trainer observed that I looked tense and frowned when I was taking orders. That frown of concentration could easily be mistaken as surliness by customers, she warned.In the dining business, service was also about serving the food on time and having staff who were familiar with the menu and helpful with recommendations.

During my lunch shift, a large group of office workers complained to the manager about the table arrangement. The diners were also unimpressed that the waiter, when serving the food, could not recall their orders.

They complained their glasses of water were not refilled quick enough and that a waiter had not been handpicked to serve them.

Yet, when I went around with my water pitcher on at least two occasions, no one indicated that they needed their more than half-full glasses refilled.

It is a question of perspective, perhaps. While the waiter sees it as half-full, the customer will see it as half-empty.

But these were minor hiccups, said my colleagues for a day.

No one was 'truly nasty', added Ms Rosy Aziz, training executive at Fish & Co, recalling her encounter with a customer from hell.

The Caucasian man had called her a 'schmuck' because his food was late and despite her apology.
The way she saw it, a service job was all about 'swallowing'.

'It's swallowing your pride, it's swallowing injustice when the customer is unreasonable and bullying just because he can. It's about giving good service no matter what,' she said.

Charles & Keith store manager Jasmine Wong had been yelled at and called ugly names by customers because the shoes they bought fell apart after a few days of wear.

'Often, Singaporean customers treat you like servants and don't give you respect. It isn't surprising that nobody wants to be in customer service in Singapore.'

She has had sales assistants who went for toilet breaks on their first day and never came back. Some broke down and cried in the store room.

And the pay hardly compensates for the distress. On average, a sales assistant or a waiter is paid about $1,000 a month.

Good customer service is a two-way street, said Ms Lau Chuen Wei, executive director of Singapore Retailers Association.

She said: 'We expect the service provider to say 'thank you' at the end of a transaction because we, as customers, have contributed to his coffers. But do we say 'thank you' to the service provider because he has helped us gratify our desires, our needs?

You see, if you have not written anything in your blog and an autie threaten to fat-lan-zha, you need a 'scandalous' title to wake yourself up.....

Madam Lien (the wife of Mr Lien Zhan of the retired KMT Party of Taiwan) have written 2 books recently and the books were well received. She wrote about her recent trips to China after 60 years, I think. Someone asked her: 'You used to be an active writer (she won the pageant 40 over years ago as well) and have stopped writing for so many years. Why did you decide to write again?'

She said: "I have been living in Taiwan for so many years, no matter how much I like about my country, my life is pretty stable. There is nothing to be emotional about and there is nothing which touch me normally. However, after leaving China for 60 years, the feeling was strong. I have to write them down."

You see, twinsmum, my life is about work. I cannot day day come tell you how many hours I have to work, lunch prices in Central, busy busy etc. It might sounds arogant after a while. It is not sharing anymore.......ahem, there is nothing to be emotional about (in my life)...

But I can write about my trip to China too though :- Massage parlour (dun let your daughter read this), KTV, Spa..etc etc....sometimes these get me quite 'emotional' ......

There is a very strange news in Hong Kong today.

A seven years old kid was chopped 7 times when he was walking home with her grandmum. It actually took 2 masked men to commit that crime.

2 weaponed strong young men vs one 60 years old woman + one 7-year old kid.

Why did it happen?

(a) Chelsea is leading Spurs 1-0 now
(b) The kid is actually a CIA spy
(c) There is a rumour that Lee Kah Shing is sick
(d) The boy's father owed someone HK$ 6000

It only happens in HK. It was reported that the kid's father owe 'someone' football betting debt HK6000 and has not paid up.

HK$ 6,000....HK$ 6,000....for only HK$ 6,000, someone would actually 'pak' a 7 years old kid....

Amazing, amazing...fucking amazing

It has been a really long time since I last blog.

I almost forgot my own password.

So many things have happened in the past few weeks. Ringgit has been repeg, Rafidah is in trouble, KLSE hit 4 years high, bombing in London...etc.etc..

All I have is to work.

I like Hong Kong. I think it is the influence of Hong Kong movie. I even have this cosy feeling when I see this 'Siu Ba' (mini bus). It reminds me of a movie by Cecilia Cheung who plays a bus driver role. I also find it very strange to pay RM 7 for a comic. In Malaysia, I fucking pay RM 0.70 and read it in the comic shop. I also like Cha Chan Tang (Cantonese Cafe) and ordered the Chan Dan Min (Instant noddle with luncheon meat and egg). I no longer need to go to Lau Yat plaza and eat at the 'Mong Kok' restaurant. My friend told me - 'Junior, you are now in Mong Kok'.

It is a very strange feeling.

I also have to learn how to dress. I have to learn how to deal with difficult people. I have to tolerate the different culture that others have. This is a very international place. It is not the same. I have to learn how to say the right thing at the right time. I have to continue thinking new solution to help my clients who pay millions to get advice. I have to fly ever so often until my passport is forever in my samsonite bag. I have to get use to paying HK 39 for a sandwich and HK 32 for the fruit juice. I have to learn eating lunch at my desk. I have to get used to eating lunch at 1.45 pm so that I can get a seat. I have to make the initiative to talk to people.....

I have so many things to learn. But I am also mindful that I want to preserve my own identity.

I am a country boy. I like laksa. But I can eat at Tuscany and drink Pot. I like to wear short. But I dun mind if someone pays me enough to buy my CK. I can take the tram. But when I come back, I want to drive Toyota Altis (TNS, junior, can you be more ambitious) (wei, u drive BM, people will follow you and rape you) (Me smart)

Dear all my friends who have sent me so many kind wishes. I want to tell you all that I will certainly change when I come back. But I also promise you this, I will still be the dirty idiotic Junior when I am back.

I had the chance to go to a 40 ft sail boat yesterday for a cocktail party. IT was soooooooooo fun. So many pretty girls and some stars like Maggie Q and others (dun know their name) were there. Bikini was evrywhere. Great wine, cigar, and the TV even showed the Liverpool match against Everton!

We cruised down to the lantau island and everyone was high....gosshhhhh that is life mannnnnnnnnnnnnn

But that is not reality. Just my fantasy...kakkkakkakkaka
have been working like a dog la..where got time??????

Took the late flight yesterday to come back to singapore to see my wife....and have to fly again tommorrow nite and start work again.

If you have a better job, pls keep me in mind...:D

Finally Here

After a couple of months of boasting that I was coming to HK. I am finally here.

The first impression - apartment is bloody small. The place (HK$20k per month) is as big as my toilet back in Malaysia (ehh....in Kayu Hitam...).....

Also bloody stressed. It is no joke changing job and changing industry at this age. PLUS, joining this company. I wonder if the foodcourt in Singapore still want me back.

I am now working in the kitchen....:)

Costs of living is surprisingly bloody low (stressed people must use a lot of 'bloody' to express himself). Today, I spent the following:-

Breakfast - Ham and Egg and Coffee HK$ 20
Lunch - Drumstick Chicken Rice with Veggie and Lemon Tea HK 28
Dinner - Steam Fish rich set with Veggie and Honey Lemon HK$ 38

That is the price in Central, supposedly the most expansive place in HK......

Wei, not bad leh, like this I can save HK 232.50 a month leh......

Anyone want to borrow money ah?

Today is my last day in Singapore. So where am I going later? Dang dang dang....not Geylang, but Orchard Road......

You would agree that my blog has become more 'personal' in the last few months. Who could blame me? When you resign, get married, join a new firm, move to another country etc at the same time, you f care what happen in the political, business or football scenes...:)

I hope I have spelled diarrhea correctly.

I had a horrible diarrhea yesterday and I spent almost the whole day looking for toilet. I dun know why I had such a bad diarrhea.

I went out partying until 2 am on Friday nite. Woke up late and had KFC as breakfast. Ate maggie assam with egg (my fav) as during tea time and follow with 1 jug of beer at the East Coast beach.

Came back at 7.20 pm and went to join my neighbour's party and ate curry chicken. Drank wine and beer somemore.

I dun understand why I got diarrhea though.....:).

FeedReader for Dummies

ok ok I know I have not been writing much. Sometimes, I write 3 posts in a day and sometimes, I write 1 in 3 weeks......

BUT NOW, you need not worry! Because technology has come to the rescue again. This thing calls RSS FeedReader, will notify you once there is any updates to this site. ALL you need to do is to instal it. Initially I tot it would only be useful to my daily blog reading. But I was very very very pleasantly surprised to find that the feeder automatically comes with feeds from other top sites such as yahoo news, business weeks, AWSJ etc etc. You can read a lot of news in ONE very simple window. Personally I deleted a lot of those feeds to keep my window a lot simpler. But it is upto you to choose.

Here is how to instal the RSS Feeder and I promise you, you would love it. I must thank this guy Jason who wrote a long piece on this RSS thing in his blog. If you want to know more about the technical site and the complete posting by him, you can go here.

I have ignore the technical side of this and merely post below the APPLICATION:-

(1) Firstly, go here to instal the FeedReader version 2.90

(2) Install the program and run the program. You will see an interface like this:-

(3) Click on the first icon at the tool bar to add new feed.

(4) Type your desired blog’s RSS feed address and click next.

Note: To add this blog to your FeedReader, simply type http://juniortok.blogspot.com/atom.xml in the above. I used Jasons' photo here so that you know I have copied this WORD FOR WORD and PIC for PIC. You see, me very 'light bright square big'.....

(5) Type your desired name for the blog and click finish.

Repeat (3) to (5) for other blogs. You would notice that all you need to do is to copy the blog's address and add 'atom.xml' at the end of the address. According to Jason, Blogspot blog uses this 'atom.xml' thing. Other blog service provider migth use the same or something else....

I like this FeedReader. It is very very easy to use and I can read news and blog in one single window and I know what are the latest update.

Unfortunately my FeedReader does not refresh or update automatically. But NVM, all I need to do is to click Refresh or Update whenever I want to read....

Deputy Minister suspended over Dewan outburst
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk S. Sothinathan has been suspended as Deputy Natural Resources and Environment Minister for three months effective yesterday for breaking ranks with the Government in Parliament.

“He is a member of the front bench and should not have taken a stand like what he did, criticising his own Government.” This, Abdullah added, “is certainly a breach of party discipline”.

I really want to write about this. I really do not like what I saw. I understand that I have not watched the tape (parlimen) and do not know what this Datuk Sothinathan ACTUALLY said. But based on what I read from the press, he touched the racial sensitive issue and he was suspended.

We Malaysia simply have this habit of sweeping everything under the racial carpet and I am very sick of it.

WE DO NOT HAVE THE FREEDOM OF SPEACH EVEN IN OUR PARLIMENT.

One of the duties of Parliment is to question Government decision and policies. If one is PUNIHSED for speaking his mind, there is something wrong. I know his MP is not suspended and his right is protected. But to suspend him from other post is merely saying to other MP, hey dun mess with me if you want power, status and money.

If the Government walk straight stand straight, it should not be afraid of being scrutinized and questioned.

We still have a loooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng way to go.

I should have posted this long time ago but I was too bogged down by different things. Just a short (very short indeed) summary of what happended that day:-

8.30 am We were all ready to go to pick up the bride

10.30 am We gau tim the tea ceremony at the bride's house. Getting ready to come back KL. Photographer was gaya and I was told that they took 10,000 photos.... (these pictures are provided by Lockee)

4.30 pm Church solemnisation started

4.45 pm The flower girls were ready but the bride's dad was not in the church due to KL traffic....we were 15 min late

5.00 pm The matrimony final began and I was legally married

8.00 pm The dinner started. I asked the restaurant not to wait for the late comers.....many got drunk very quickly

1 Wedding

I have said many times before my wedding that wedding is NOT for the groom, it is for everyone else. That was because there were a lot of big and small decisions in relation to the wedding. Most of the time, the groom does not have the say otherwise, if the groom is fussy, there will be a lot of tension (no. of table la, who sit where la, who get which table la, church flower la, car la, etc). So, it is better if the groom is more Chin-Chai (easy going). So, I said wedding is not for the groom but everyone else.

But I was wrong. Very wrong.

The wedding made me realised that I have a lot of friends and family members who take care of me well. One cannot organise a good wedding without any help from friends, immediate family and relatives.

Initially, I wanted to have a simple wedding. That was to fly her immediate family and my immediate family to Las Vegas and get blessed there. Alternative solution was to do that in Bali. In the end, I have a FULL DAY event:-

8.30 am Pick up bride
10 30 am Tea Ceremony (bride side)
12.00 pm Tea Ceremony (Groom side)
4.30 pm Church Solemnisation
7.30 pm Banquet

My brother team (about 20 of them) virtually spent the whole day with me or running around like a dog to help me out (even though I have a wedding planner) or to pick up the family to attend the church.

A drove us the whole day. B came to the rehersal for a few times. C delivered the car to me. D made the yam cake. E organised my stag nite. F checked the dinner bill. G drank on behalf of me. H busy looking for glasses for yam seng. I sent everyone home when everyone is drunk. J found me the wonderful wine for the banquet. K sang on my wedding. L took 2 days off to practice and play the guitar. M gave a speach. N read a scripture. O helped to pick up friends from overseas, P helped to pacify some guests, Q lent you the car. R designed the wedding bulletin. S printed me the wedding card. T video cam the exciting moments for me. U (and many U) ate a lot of funny things when picking up the bride. V distibuted all the invitation cards. W organised the flower boys and girls. X who supported me financially. Y drove all the way from KL. Z flew in from other countries............I can go on and on.....

That is on top of all the dirty work which has been done by the wedding planer and team.

I am glad that I did a FULL DAY wedding. Unfortunately, I cannot do it every year......:D

I have edited this post to add in a bad layout.

One of my hobbies is to go around town visiting different new residential projects. Recently I am very impressed with this new project in China:-

Good Layout

This is a very very good layout, if you are working in the property industry, please copy it :D :-

Clever design to seperate the dining area from the living area using a 'corridor' - look at the long arrow I drew, without affecting the 'flow' - very hard to do. That is also the center of the apartment.
Very square layout - very efficient
The dining area comes with a western kitchen set up, can use this to impress your guests and improve efficiency. If you renovate this area properly, it can be very very beautiful. Seperate chinese kitchen (to the north side of the layout) for oily cooking
All the master bed room, living room and study room are facing south.
Although the main entrance is facing the toilet, but this could easily be overcome by a partition...i dun know the word la, but in chinese we call it 玄关
Clever layout to seperate sleeping area from activities area. Privacy maintained.
None of the doors are facing each other

The only problems are (1) no storage room, (2) no maid room and (3) balcony is too small. But for a property with 1300 sf ++, this is very impressive liao.

Bad Layout

Compared the above with this 'what-not-to-do' layout:-

Look at where the Toilets are (red circle or square). It is in the CENTER of the unit. Look, where do you think the 'smell' could go?
Toilet again. The natural window for the Master bedroom toilet is to the balcany. Can u imagine you have some guests who open the door panel to the balcany and you need to 'mm mm'? Isn't that embarrasing?
The door or the Master Room and the other bed room are FACING each other. Customers don't like this from Fengshui perspective again. But it also invade your privacy.
Although the layout is squre but there is a space which is waste (where I put '????'). That is not a good 'coridor' as compared to the good layout.
This type of open kitchen (ie. without a seperate Chinese kitchen for oily cooking) is only 'good to see but not practical'
There is no storage room, wet kitchen. I nearly wanted to jump out and ask 'Where do I put my washing machine and dry my clothes leh?'
The bed in the master room is positioned wrongly. If you were to ly on that bed, you cannot see anyone coming in from the room. It makes you feel very insecured.

My dear Jagjit,

I am in a well here and hoping you are also in a well there. I'm writing this letter slowly, because I know you cannot read fast. We are not living where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen 20 miles from home, so we moved 20 miles.

I am not able to send the address, as the last Sardar who stayed here took the house numbers with them for their new house so they would not have to change their address. Hopefully by next week we will be able to take our earlier address plate here, and that our address will remain same too.

This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine, situated right above the toilet. But I'm not sure it works too well. Last week I put in 3 shirts, pulled the chain, and haven't seen them since.

The weather here isn't too bad. It rained only twice last week. The first time it rained for 3 days and second time for 4 days.

The coat you wanted me to send you, your Aunt said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with all the metal buttons, so we cut them off and put them in the pocket.

By the way, I took Bahu to our club's poolside. The manager is Badmash. He told her that two piece swimming suit is not allowed in his club. We were confused as to which piece we should remove?

I read in another article that almost 40% suffers depression. I guess it must have included mild or less severe depression. Also, women experience depression about twice as often as men. Based on my 20 years of adulthood research, I have a few secret ways of combating depression for your reference:-

MEN

Watch Football - cheering reduces the chances of being depressed. If that does not work, top up with supporting Liverpool (side effect: you might have heart attack instead)
Drink beer - it keeps you happy (side effect: big belly, jail for drinka and drive)
Play mahjong - it diverts your attention to somethign else (side effect: no money)
Don't do house work - it makes you feel very 'low'. Avoid doing things like this like shopping with wife, pick her up etc (side effect - No sex, no beer and no mahjong because wife not happy)
Visit Brothel - the guilt make you feel guilty so you will not have 'depression'. It is a logic of substitute (side effect: STD and VERY severe depression due to guilt)
All of the above - this is for very serious case. do it at your own risk

Women

Do housework - it divert your attention away (side effect: None)
Cook and boil soup - it makes you feel very useful because you feed every body (side effect: None)
Oblige to husband sex request - it makes you feel very femanine (side effect: None)
Give BJ to husband - er...er...... (I am running out of excuses liao) (side effect: None)
Do not do shopping - guilt will make you feel depressed (side effect: None)
Do not buy shoes - You dun need that many pairs of shoes (side effect: None)

New Drug

I think, computer game is actually one kind of drug.

Met up with Mary recently and found that she was very bitter with her life. She used to be this attractive lady with this 'sexy' factor and quite witty. But she seemed to be very bitter recently. She was complaining about her bosses and work all the time and basically see everything negatively.

So I asked her "What are you doing about that?". She said nothing. She was too busy and she could not do anything about it.

I found out that the only thing that she does these days is playing 'Neopet'. She came back from work until say 10pm. Then she would play Neopet until around 2 am. She wakes up around 8 am and goes to work. She will play min 8 hours of Neopet on Sat and Sun even though she might have to work over weekend sometimes.

Computer game, blogging, forum, IRC, MSN messenger, online poker etc are ALL bad for health. Computer games are like drug. It gets you away from your trouble only temporarily. It does not solve the problem that you have. If you have a problem, complain is fine. But dun day day complain. Deal with it please.

Please do not spend too much time in front of your pc/laptop. It is very bad for your health and MENTALLY.

Whoa!!!! It is the FA Cup final this Saturday!!!!! I am all ready for a great night of football (ok ok, honestly, deep down in my heart = FA Cup? What FA Cup? *Yawn*.... Win it and play in UEFA Cup next season...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz) (Nomore, you cannot blame me. This is a Liverpool site...:D)

But I must admit that this is going to be a bloody match.....there is soooooooooooo much 'Hating History' between the 2 clubs & 2 teams, between the 2 managers, and between the 2 captains..... I bet you it will be a very aggressive match as opposed to all previous cup final which were boring (I am likely to bet OVER goal).

The odds for this match is current LEVEL ball. This is consistent with the past matches i.e. only the home team will give 1/4 or 1/2 to the visitor. This time, they are playing at the neautral ground. So, level ball is a fair odds.

Man Yooooo has beaten Arsenal in the previous 3 encounters. They certainly do not fear Arsenal. They keep saying that Arsenal is back to their best when they beat Everton 2 weeks ago 7-0. I watch that match. It was not fantastic laaaa....ok only (Everton was crap...).

Nomore, I am sorry. I am taking MAN UNITED......:D

A Confession

This is a long post. You may skip it if you want. It is about a confession (Kelly, u might be interested).

I always enjoy drinking with Mary. She is witty and pretty. She works for Morgan Stanley and is the junior economist for Asia Pacific. Not a bad achievement considering that she is only 27.

Last night we had our usual drink at KazBar (near my office in Raffles Place) talking about Ringgit, Football, Atkin diet, holiday bla bla….. I enjoyed watching (or peeping) her while we sip our beer. She knew that I was ‘peeping’ at her sometime, not paying attention to what she was saying. Loose white skirt and long chestnut-colored hair. she wore a tight blue tank-top that left several inches of tanned skin bare at her midriff (casual Friday). The cut of her skirt and her position on the high bench gave me a great view of her tanned, athletic legs. Maybe I was drunk, but I felt that her tank-top was too tight for her. I looked away discreetly when she looked into my eye. I was embarrassed or shy, I dun know.

Around 11 pm, we were a little drunk and decided to leave Kazbar as it was getting crowded. I left my notebook in the office so I told her that lets go to my office to collect my stuff and I will send her back. She had no objection.

When I reached office, everyone had gone. All lights were off. I opened the door all the way, which let enough corridors light in to more or less permit me to find my way around to locate the switch. I hadn't realized that Mary was right behind me, and I bumped into her when I ‘U-turned’. There was a brief contact of bare skin as our bodies met, and I felt her breasts compress lightly against my chest. We both stepped back and made quick apologies. She stood outlined in the light streaming through the open doorway. For all the effect her dress had on her profile, she might as well have been nude. I swallowed hard but still managed to pretend like a gentleman. “Are you ok”, I whispered.

It was a long moment before she gently untangled herself and took a deep breath. We stood a few inches apart, but the scent of her warm skin filled the space between us. "Yes, I'm fine," she said. But there was a catch in her voice. I was still controlling my desire to kiss her. I felt that my pocket (of my pant) was expanding (guys would know what I meant). I did not expect myself to be that excited. I could not stop it. Then I heard a familiar melody. Ohh…it was not my ****, it was my phone which was vibrating earlier. I recognized that ring tone. I had to pick it up.

Since I am going to work in HK soon, I am paying more attention to North Asia news these days. So, besides watching loads of HK series and cartoon (do you know that most HK movies or seriers in Singapore are translated into MANDARIN....KNN), I also watch taiwanese entertainment shows....occasional I bump into Taiwanese news....this is what happened yesterday:-

I finally got a taste of 'LIFE-AFTER-RESIGNATION-BUT-SERVING-NOTICE' la. It is damn boring.... they dun involve you in anything and treat you like a spy. But they refuse to let you go early. I think it is because I am the face-of-my-firm, not many good looking people in the financial industry, I guess....

So, I have no choice loh. I blog while getting paid lor...:D ...............I have been asked a question recently just slightly over 2,000 times.

"Ah Junior, should I do an MBA?"

My first question in reply is always, why do you want to do an MBA? Most reply with saying 'Career advancement'. Then, immediately I behave very 'mature' and become an old man and say 'If you still believe that MBA is a passport for career advancement, then you are out-day la (outdated)'

I remember 15 years ago, if you are out of school with LCE...(I think it is equivalent to STPM), you are damn good. 10 years ago, if you have a degree, you are damn good. 5 years ago, if you have an MBA, you are damn good. But these days, touch wood it does not happen, if a lorry ran into the mamak stall and kill 10 people, 8 out 10 probably have a master degree. The 'in' thing to do now is PHD or DBA. What is the value of MBA?

I think unless you come out from the top 20-30 schools in the world and carry the right brand, an MBA will not get you a GOOD job.

To do an MBA, it must be a positive NPV decision. i.e. the cost that you are paying must be LESS than your future increment in INCOME. Say you are earning RM 5,000 a month and you are able to save RM 2,000 a month. The costs of doing a decent MBA is approx. RMB 200,000 to RM 250,000 (if not more. i am choosing the lower end of good schools like Virginia, Carnegie etc) including costs of living and it takes say 18 months.

Your total relevant cost is say RM 225,000 PLUS the forgone saving of RM2,000 x 18 months = Grand Total of RM 261,000. If you want to have a pay back period of max 5 years (which personally I think is long), you need to make sure that your next job can pay you RM 4,350 a month MORE than your current job. (If you chooses a cheaper school offshore, this would be around RM 2,500 a month).

If you are not able to get a job OFFSHORE, the chances are, you are losing money on your decision to study that MBA. Try walking to CIMB or ECM and tell them to pay you RM 9,350 and see. You dun have a good deal.

Some argue, well, MBA comes with other benefit like learning something, different experience, widen exposure and all those thingies (aikksss....say 'beer' and 'girls' la........if you are lucky, you probably get to shag a spaniard...) . I would say, then dun do a MBA, do a specialised degree. Like Master of Applied Finance (kakkaka...I did this, so I put this first), Master of Financial Engineering, Master of Real Estate Finance etc. Some good schools ranging from London Business School to University of Melbourne to Nanyang Tec University of Singapore offers DAMN good value for money. I recently went to HK for a job interview, I am not sure but I did not have a feeling that they looked down at my Finance Master or they prefer a MBA. I got the job in the end. So, I think you dun really have to do an MBA to get a good job. A specialised degree SELL your Passion on a particular area of interest (which sells very very well with multi national firm).

For career advancement, you must buy low sell high i.e. choose a program that is best value for money. Not buy high and hope to sell higher like doing an MBA. It is very risky.

Just my view la. I have no professional training....:D

If you ask me, I would say 3G is probably the biggest financial MISTAKE in the history. I remember back in year 2000, so many firms paid BILLIONS to the various Governments for the bandwidth. I remember Hutchison LOST EURO 2 bn just becaues there is delay in LAUNCHING (note: not bidding. just the cost of delay) their 3G.

All those tycoons, telco professionals, executives etc, will foreverbe remembered as loser....losing sooooooooooooooo much money in the history.

Today, I have a very different blog. I am going to talk a bit about my religion. But this post is not about religion. It is about humanity (人性). It is about why I am not surprised that it is not easy to change one's personality.....

Genesis Chapter 3 The Fall of Man

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."
11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"

12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."

The background of the story is simple. God created Adam and THEN Eve. Eve was 'cheated' by the serpent and ate the forbiden fruit. God was upset and punished both of them. The relationship between mankind and God was broken.....(something like that la ha...)

When I read this passage carefully, and paid attention to those lines which I bolded. I am very amazed that mankind have NEVER changed. We really have not! If you believe that Adam and Eve are our ancestors (wei, believing that is better than believing we were once MONKEY rite?), then this must have happened at least many many many many years ago. Even if you do not believe, but bible was written more than 2,000 years ago (this is old testament, so it should be much longer. but lets assume only 2000 years), and still WE HAVE NOT CHANGED.

Let me explain:-

Verse 1 The serpent went to Eve but not Adam. not because she got boobs. It was because, God did not tell Eve directly. It was Adam responsibility to tell Eve. Serpent saw through that and took advantage of Eve's feeling (which could be a bit sore.) and asked her 'Did God really say'. Well, to Eve, she was NOT told directly....so if anything goes wrong, she could always claim...'well, you did not tell me DIRECTLY...' (don't you think that this situation happens around us all the time?)
Verse 3 Eve then added 10% to what she heard from Adam (God did not say they should not touch the fruit. He simply said do not EAT) ....(dun you think this is how we start rumour?)
Verse 4 The serpernt minus 50% of what God said. God told Adam, if you eat, you WILL surely die. But now the serpent is planting the doubt into Eve by telling her 'well, you MIGHT die. But not SURELY. ...(dun you think this is how we start rumour? we cast doubt into someone's belief. we plus and minus something into what we know?)
Verse 5 This is about jeolousy (Eve wanting to be GOD).......we sore about somebody's success. We do not like to be UNDER somebody and we think we are AS GOOD AS THEM......
Verse 6 When you read the passage, you might ask...where the hell was Adam? Well, the guy who heard directly from God and given the authoriy to take care of the earth then, was all these while NEXT to Eve. What did he do? NOTHING. Why? Well, I am not Adam. But i would speculate that he was most probably CUNNING. HE let Eve START the rebel....
Verse 9&10 When God found out. He gave them a chance and asked 'Where are you?', God gave them the chance to COME FORWARD (remind me of my childhood leh). What did Adam and Eve do? They did not have the gut to come out. They played dumb.....
Verse 11 and 12 THIS IS MY FAV verse. Now, God cannot tahan liao. God decided to confront them directly and went straight to the point. What did Adam and Eve do? ADAM POINTED FINGER AT EVE (Eve later pointed finger to the serpent). What did Adam say? He said "THE WOMAN YOU PUT HERE WITH ME...."....Whoa this guy got gut leh...he said. 'GOD, you put EVE with me first leh...then she told me to eat...ONLY then I ate'...

Whoa, I feel like a pastor now...ahem...kakakakakkakaka Anyway, I really like this passage. When I read it, I realised that WE HAVE NEVER CHANGED. WE MIGHT HAVE IMPROVED from KNOWLEDGE perspective. But INSIDE, we are as MUNDUR (ie. backward) as Adam and Eve....

Actually, up until now, I also dun know what my conclusion is...maybe I have not blogged for a long time and dun know how to blog liao...but never mind la....I managed to write so many words...

I am facing another decision to go Hong Kong. That is why I stopped blogging. This is again the most important decision I have to make in my career. Those of you who know me well, would remember that I flirted with an opportunity to go HK. I decided not to go, then decided to go, then decided not to go again until I forgot whether I wanted to go or dun want to go. Confused? :D

The opp came back again. This time, I have run out of excuse. I have to decide. I also need to decide whether this is God's will asking me to go and do it in HK. I think Andy Lau is in HK. HK belongs to good looking people like me.

Selangor moves to protect fireflies’ habitat

I went to Mount Elizabeth Hospital for the medical check up. I have read many times that Singapore is the medical hub for SEA countries. Malaysia have always wanted to develop this industry and wanted to compete with them. (Thank God, I dun have to visit the Malaysia hospitals often. I went to a few like the Subang Medical Center and Pantai. I can accept Suband Medical. But Pantai is er....er......in fact very 'errrrr' only. )

Mount Elizabeth Hospital is just a stone throw away from Orchard Road.

It is an old building but boy, the services which they offer are really complete. HEALTHCARE IS REALLY A BUSINESS ......... I mean not that I have never heard of it. But I did not know that it can go this far....

Not only they offer hotel services, they also offer special program like Weight Management Center for certain people. Not impressed? They even have PROMOTIONS... Promotion for healthcare...can you believe it?

Can u imagine this? It is like someone shouting on the street:-

"Hey mate! are you ok? Do you want to do a cataract operation? Good deal mannn, we have promotion"

"Wow, what is the discount? whoa, 25% ah....ok ok I want to do"

"Whoa, so cheap ah..I also want to do"

Mount E is extremely professional. They even offer STATISTIC information. For example I gathered that the 50th Percentile of the Colonoscopy bill is S$840 whilst the 90th Percentile is around S$1,260. If other words, average people pay $840 for scoping their colon...and 10% of the people have to pay more than $1,260 (maybe because theirs are really tight.... )

Mannnn....... I wonder if their do analysis on these statistic. What is the Standard Deviation leh? Do I need to know the Bid Ask price?

Not happy with the above? They even have packages (value meal??)....check this out....

Mount E is owned by Parkway Ltd. They CERTAINLY ARE COMMERCIAL AND THEY ARE NOT SHY ABOUT THAT. THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL ABOUT IT.

My 'package' (in McDonald, they call this value meal) is pretty comprehensive (when they look at your stool, it has to be kua). And the arrangement is also very smooth. The nurses know what they are doing and they dont keep you waiting. They are there to work things out for you. The only hiccup I had was in the X-Ray section where this girl had to do the 'ultra sound' (or something like that la) on me. She asked me to take off my T-Shirt...So I did. Then she said

"Wait ah....Let me key in your data first"

WTF, so I was 'topless' for 5 minutes....it was so cold in the room...... I was freezing..... I think she just wanted to see my nipple....

Oil Price Hitting $58

KLSE went down 8 points yesterday because oil price hit new high at US$ 58 per barrel ...

I went to Shell last Sunday, they charged me S$1.68 per ltr........ I remember I used to pay RM 1.10 per ltr in Malaysia.

So, I pumped $4.50 into my car......that is 3 ltr....:D

How scary is this oil price hike? I don't know about you. But I am very scared. I am even thinking of selling all my shares and keeping only cash or gold.

In 1973, when we had the first oil price crisis, the world went into serious recession. I am not that old to live through that but i know it was a prolong recession. Eventhough the world is less relying on oil these days, but countries such as India and China still do, and they are the engine for growht now.

EVERYTIME THERE IS A OIL PRICE HIKE, RECESSION FOLLOWS.

Inflation is creeping up in US. But that is due to oil price but not domestic demand for goods. Alan Greenspan can do very little about it. I doubt he can do much by simply raising the interest rate. We are witnessing a transfer of wealth from oil importing country to oil exporting country.

I dun know what has gone wrong in our world, just when things were getting ok, we had this Sept 11 incident. Then when the world was ready to pick up again, we had the Iraq war and SARS in 2003. In 2004, we had this strange bird flu. Now, we have this oil price crisis.

I am very sure that a world wide recession is coming......it is just around the corner. I can smell it.......

I am not a fan of this book 'Who Moved My Cheese?' I have been working in a dog eat dog world since I was a kid. 'Change' is nothing new to me. But I like one phrase in this 'Who Moved My Cheese?' - Be Ready To Change Quickly And Employ It Again & Again

'Who Moved My Cheese?' is a book which warns complacent people about 'change'. A change to your job, a change in the family, a change in the economy, a change in the COASTLINE! Everything can change in this world. So many friends of mine are so complacent with their current situation. They think that they could have the same job forever. They think their family will always be there to back them up. They think they have endless opportunities to come etc.

Not many will smell the cheese everyday and see if it is getting old.......

A friend of mine got retrenched recently. He is around 40 years old. A age that is very difficult to get another opportunity in Singapore. He went to see a recruitment agent after trying many job applications on his own. The job recruitment agent was very blunt with him. She said:-

'Sir, although you have been working for 15 years, you don't have 15 years experience. You have 1 year of experience, but you have done that 15 times.'

Harsh. But also true. I am sympathetic. But I am not sympathetic.

Trip to KL and lesson learnt

I went back to KL yesterday for a business meeting.

Met with some people at Sunway Hotel for coffee and light drinks. I found out that all of them, rich or successful in what they are doing, have one common problem.

....MARRIAGE PROBLEM.....

...and you will not believe the 'excuse'. The excuse is 'women change after they get married'.

I did not spell wrong. I did not say 'Men Change'. I said 'Women Change'.

Men do not change. Men just hide some of their bad habits before marriage like er...er...brush their teeth before they have a date (some dun even brush their teeth before sleep) (ah...just in case, I do). Their room is messy (they usually tidy it up before you first visit their rooms). They have very little money (they spent it all on stupid things like date, drinking etc). All these will surface when you know them better or into a long term relationship. But all these are very EASY to see.

But women are different. They change ie. they were NOT like that before, but for some reasons which no one could understands, they CHANGE. For example, the wife of this senior VP of this foreign banks would not allow the husband to take the kids to the park. Reason being, he cannot take care of the kids. This investment banker was crying foul...he said 'before the wedding, she trusted me for everything, now I cannot even take my kid out to the park'......

Another example, another's wife became very manja (I think when a woman found THE man, she naturally becomes more manja). Every time they come into a 'deadlock' situation ie. they argue till no one has a new point, the wife will say 'I AM A WOMAN. I AM LIKE THAT'. She won......the man lose

Another banker knew that I was getting married and said this to me 'anyway, we are sure that the force will always keep you good luck and be good. if you can't be good, be careful :sometimes, or should i say, most of time, women are notwhat you think they are. be careful when you think you'vemanaged to con her. most likely, she might just LET youthink that you've swindled her'

I dun know what they were saying. They were talking to this young good looking man (ahem...me la) who die die is getting married soon.

And certainly, this young good looking man (aikss...me la) has no idea what he is getting into....

I attended a career fair 3 years ago when I finished my postgrad. I still remember this scene vividly where the Vice President of a particular foreing co was preaching about his co. 5 min into his speech, he said 'BTW, anyone of you from the local university?'

Some 15-20 people raised their hands. VP continued' "ohhh...we don't hire local grads....".

Luckily I graduated from Bangladesh. But still, my heart was saying 'KNN, need to be soooo arrogant or not ah?'

But to be honest, I dun blame the VP. I still remember I got the first job before they asked me any questions. You know why? Because I wore a tie. The interviewer told me that many many who came that morning, came without a tie. and many of them came from the local U.

We already have a fucked up system, where a lot of people are doing courses like 'Tamadun Melayu". Friends, I am not against learning history and I appreciate the importance of it. I respect that. But if you bloody hell spent 3 years doing a degree in that, what sort of job you think you would get? Merger and Acquistion with JP Morgan issit?

What make the matter worse is that the uni aren't doing themselves any favour. They never taught any soft skills to this young boys and girls. They did not teach them how to look for a job, what are the do and don't during an interview, there is NO networking training and there isn't a strong alumni.

Why is Chicago Business School, Harvard, Stanford etc etc sooooo strong? because they teach you how to look for a job before you started learning anything academically. They also have very strong alumni. Alumni = Networking. They organise cocktail party every now and then, so that the old can meet the young to SHARE. That tradition continues for yearsssssss.

When was the last time your local uni called you up to attend an alumni meeting or party?

Malaysia on the verge of take-off
It has been an eventful week for the Malaysian capital market and banking industry with the Government announcing a slew of measures aimed at strengthening the economy and adding depth to the capital markets. The transformation of the financial landscape was signalled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi when he announced at the Invest Malaysia 2005 conference the names of the foreign brokers. The following day, Bank Negara also unveiled a series of measures designed to overhaul the exchange market.

I am pretty encouraged with the way PM and team shaping up our financial industry. Opening up the industry to big boys like JP Morgan etc will only make Malaysia's financial industry more competitive and more efficient.

Dun get me wrong, all these big boys CLSA, UBS, JP are all sharks. THEY ARE HERE TO MAKE MONEY.

Financial market is the backbone of a country's economy. At the end of the day, FINANCING is the key to BUSINESS development. When you add thousands of business together, you have the ECONOMY. (Tiu lor, I am not sure if my econ professor would vomit blood if I explain 'Economy' in that manner....). (Anyway, this is my blog, he would not read it...what the heck....)

A strong banking industry provide efficient financing to companies i.e. they do not 'chin chai' (simply) lend money to every tom dick and harry (like what we have in China). A strong capital market (equity side) allows hard working entrepreneur to share his risk with other retail investors (i.e. partial exit for businessman) and allow them to go IPO.

I like what I saw in the past few days. Those were decent, well thought decisions made by the Government.

I still remember 2 years ago, all these construction big boys were complaining like hell that if the government was to cut spending, they would die la, house broken people (**Censored**) et etc.

Government bo-chap (ie. did not give a damn) and went ahead to cut budget deficit.

Today, IJM is going big into India and Vietnam. They said they would die 2 years ago. But never die. Still standing (er...er......Loc Kee, not that one...put it down....).

What is the moral of the story? Well, next time when your wife asks you to buy more SKII saying that they will die, grow old, bo-shui (not pretty) etc etc...DON'T BELIEVE THEM.

De-peg good or bad?

Ah-Computerer-Fei-Chai-Don't-Want-Proton-Loc-Kee, I last did my econ when I was doing my STPM until now, I dunt even know how to spell economy in Malay...but let me try.

The currency issue is a big issue. First you must understand the history of this currency in US currency where the Bretton Wood system was abolished many years ago. It is also important to know the supply and demand for our RM currency and analyse the trend. Watch closely the trade partners movement ie. our import and export with US, China and Singapore. Central banks worldwide are also buy more Euro and less US. Then pay attention to the inflation rate and the interest rate differencial between RM and US. Once you have understand all that, ignore them...because the short answer is, if your company pays you in US$ and you convert it yourself, then NO GOOD because RM will appreciate if de-peg. If they pay you in RM, then NO Difference.

Proton GEN.2 sales set to double to 60,000 units, says CEO

You can hear the 'car leg' - ka kaka ka kaka kra...kra kra kra.....kraaaaa..........or something like that. It sounds very familiar to me. Because about 11 years ago, I had a proton saga. It had exactly the same sound.

I am however not pro chinese independent school (for secondary like Chong Wah etc). I really cannot see the benefits of doing chemistry, maths, etc etc in CHINESE. How is it gonna benefit your life? I think, as long as the chinese education is sufficient for one to read newspaper, novel, comics and argue or fight with the Chinese chinese, then it is good enough liao.

That said, this SRJKC is not a racial issue. Do we have a situation to deal with? Yes, we do. I am not gonna be shy to admit that. But do we have to sweep it under the racial issue again? I dun think so. We can structure this, for example, a new SRJKC can only be built when there is a 10% bumi quota...(TNS, you can tell that I am working in the finance industry, can't you?). Or, we can do a put and call option with the SRJK i.e. after 5 years, we SWAP students with the National SRJK. Nah, here is the 50 chinese student that I have, now give me 60 Malay students that you have...like that like that...can ah?

Telekom announces VSSBy B.K. SIDHU
Telekom Malaysia Bhd announced a voluntary separation scheme (VSS) yesterday – possibly the biggest in Malaysia’s corporate history – that may involve the departure with benefits of more than 3,000 employees. The subsequent cost savings on wages after the VSS will help the group achieve comparable or higher efficiency relative to other regional telcos. Telekom expects up to 10% or 3,050 of its employees to take up the VSS. The group has a total workforce of 30,500.

PUTRAJAYA: The Government has shot down AirAsia’s proposal to operate from Subang and instead decided to build a new terminal at the KL International Airport in Sepang for low-cost carriers (LCCs). Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said the RM100mil terminal would be operational by the middle of next year and provide basic facilities for LCCs to operate.

I have to say that I am not with my hero Tony Fenandaz this time. The government surprisingly made the right decision to continue building Sepang Airport rather than re-opening the subang airport, which will create a lot of confusion and Air Asia is the only one who will benefit from Subang Airport.

PETALING JAYA: Trace them and make them pay up, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) on the high number of student loan defaulters. He also lambasted the attitude of defaulters, who have jobs but refuse to repay their loans, as “unforgivable.”

“They (PTPTN) must know who owe them and what they are doing now,”

Stock Market is a Dirty Game

Sarawak Concrete Industries Bhd’s (SCIB) steep 30.23% discount for its private placement of shares has not gone down well with analysts and investors.
Analysts and fund managers say the deal is not fair to existing shareholders as they will lose out on the huge discount given to the private placement. Last Wednesday, SCIB announced that it had fixed the issue price of the placement shares of up to 10% of its share capital at RM1.20 each, a discount to the five-day weighted average market price of RM1.72.

Reacting to the above news, SCIB's share price down again this morning.

Well, I got it wrong with Habib by saying that the price would come down after the acquisition and right issue announcement. The rationale was simple then - Habib paid almost full value for a new business, and share price gained approx. 150% which to me should not be sustainable. Plus the private placement to SCOMI at a much lower price, I would not touch Habib. But Habib did not look back. I made one clear mistake. A big mistake. I underestimated the power of Habib's 'Gangster' which could easily influence a 'connered' stock like Habib. Habib did not look back. The price needs to stay high so that Scomi could get the necessary financing to subscribe to the new shares and complete the whole deal.

How about SCIB? I would only say - "Similar stock, disimilar fate". I do not want to discuss whether 5 days weighted average is fair or 30 days is more appropriate (er....er...becaues i dun know which one is better), but looking at SCIB's average price of around RM 2.50 prior to the recent fall, the RM 1.20 does indeed looks cheap at first glance (of course I did not do a valuation....).

But why didn't SCIB react the same way like Habib? Well, if KLSE was as 'clean' and 'fundamental' as we would like it to be, no one will screw any stock in KLSE lor.

It is like you only do one night stand with a slut....if the girl/guy is not slutty, you will not screw her/him, would you?

To be honest, I am very *tulan* with our Bank Negara and the current administration (our PM lor). I started toking about ‘Inflation Inflation Inflation’ last year (September 2004 Archieve) when I doubted the official inflation rate and their basket of goods (we also discussed whether ‘basket’ is a noun or adjective, remember?) . How can our inflation be only 2.5%?

Petrol prices have gone up, electricity and water rates to go up soon, even stamp also has gone up, toll has gone up, bus fare, fish and chicken prices have gone up….Dr. Zeti, you still want to tell me inflation will be low…… I might as well give you my chastity. Nah…take it….*shy*shy*..

I came back to KL 10 days ago and went to eat ‘Chap Fan’ (mix rice) + Chinese Tea. Do you know how much it costs? RM 5.40!!!! I nearly fell off my chair. I used to pay RM 1.70 you know…..(but to be fair, that was about 10 years ago in serdang la…). You bet that I ate that plate of rice with tears in my heart…

You know that I did not believe that Malaysia will re-peg its currency. I am actually neutral on this (er...er..because i really do not know much about currency). But I feel that this currency pegged or rather 'undervalued' currency is begining to haunt us.

Yet, we are not able to raise interest rate because it will attractive even more hot money because our currency is fixed or rather pegged. There is a very clear arbitrage opportunity for foregin investors especially Singaporean. Imagine this, if you were singaporean, you would want to buy the properties in Malaysia NOW because (a) currency is cheap and ULTIMATELY Ringgit will appreciate (b) Malaysia property prices will surely increase due to inflation. Same logic goes for stocks. The inflow of foreign money including those tourism money will not benefit everyone in Malaysia.

If you are a working class in Malaysia say teacher or bank officer, I bet you curse at least 5 times a day. BTW, if you really have to curse, pls just say 'Tiu'. Dun be too uncivilised like some who says 'Kan Ni Nia' in my tag board on the top right corner....:D

It is very difficult to understand your Singlish….
First of all, I am not Singaporean. If my mum did not lie to me and she indeed is my natural mother, then I am sure that I was born in Malaysia. My English is bad because I do not double check my spelling and grammar before I click on ‘Publish this Post’. I simply write whatever that came to my mind. You can say I am ‘real’ or straight forward. But I am just lazy.

My advice is that:-
Dun pay attention to the grammar or spelling. That is not the point. Read with an open mind and I am sure you will get what I am trying to say. You can also find a very obvious ‘style’ – I use a lot of foul language, hokkien, Chinese, rubbish and non-sense, warp logic. But in the end, I always want to deliver a point (although my effort is not very much revealed).

p/s this dude KP used to help in correcting my spelling. Now he has given up liao….

Learn some Chinese especially cantonese, and ‘english translated directly from Chinese, Malay. Finally, read more…

Working overseas but staying loyal - Singapore has more and more people venturing overseas:-

Nearly half of all Singaporeans do not think they need to be a resident to be emotionally rooted to the country.
Six out of 10 undergraduates said they wanted to go abroad to live or work mostly for better economic and job prospects, and enjoy a higher quality of life with less stress. About 7% attributed it to a lack of sense of belonging.
An ACNielsen poll showed 21% of Singaporeans, mainly professionals, were considering emigration, half opting for Australia and New Zealand.
Between 100,000 and 150,000 Singaporeans are studying, working or in business in foreign countries; leaders fear that many of them will not return.

If you were an Ah beng like me, you will watch channel like Phoenix, TVBS in Astro (or cable TV in Singapore). Since I have no money to subscribe to CNN or CNBC in Singapore, I watch the news and discussion forum of these chinese channels. I now know more about China, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong than in Malaysia (tiu lor, I am not patriotic anymore lor).

I really think that China will one day become very big (BCK, just for you, and very 'straigh-forward')..... almost every tom dick and harry in china is very interested in international development. You can see that from the number of discussion programs, talk shows, forums or news on these chinese channels. They really care about the development of the North Korea, Thailand, Taiwan or even the Israel..... Well, I really do not know why one needs to know all these and how it will benefit your life. But it signifies the MACRO view practiced by the nation. In addition to doing their own 'domestic' duty, everyone keep abreast of BIGGER PICTURE, so that they can learn from others' experiences.

When everyone is going international, we Malaysian are still focusing on domestic..... The back bone of Malaysian economy is SME. Unfortunately, that is all that we have - SMALL and Medium. We really do not have home breed INTERNATIONAL players in sport, academic or business. I really believe that this is due to our attitude. We are still fighting over petty issues like whether Annuar still has his influence, Bumi no Bumi, 3% or 30%, Dr M mades proton chairman resign etc etc. No one is paying attention to BIG PICTURE and international developments.

I must remind fellow Malaysian that we are not just competing among races (neh, our old malay, chinese and indian story leh) but we are also competing internationally. Let's finish off the knock out stage with other countries first, before we start our own internal friendly match.

It is really cheap to do business in Malaysia. Serious. But that is just about the only 'weapon' which we have - cheap. We are not competitive in terms of knowledge, attitude and mindset (er...er...I really dun know the diff between attitude and mindset...but if I dun give 3 examples, I cannot use the word 'and'.....so, please live with it). Being a 'developing country' is really no excuse for us to be so short sighted or micro focused. We are not only losing to Singapore, we are also losing to China in terms of our attitude. Even the China universities in secondary cities like Hangzhou is more internationally focused than our Uni of Malaya.

I hope you can take this seriously, and think about it. From now on, lets be more Macro focus and we can all start with reading Hong Kong comics, watching MTV (must be US one hor) and EPL.....a thousand miles journey start with 1 step ma...

Also, if you have time, please watch more chinese channels. In addition to making you more Ah beng, it makes you feel ashamed....

Yesterday, Habib announced a plan to buy the core marine assets and business of Singapore Stock Exchange-listed Chuan Hup for RM1.31bil, to be satisfied via a RM1.1bil cash payout and a share issuance.

“Habib will incorporate a new company (newco) in Singapore. The newco will raise RM644mil in non-recourse debt to part finance the acquisition,’’ Scomi senior vice-president Hilmy Zaini Zainal told reporters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Besides the RM644mil in non-recourse debt, Habib will sell 174 million shares at RM1.15 per share to Scomi to raise RM200mil; propose a 1-for-1 rights issue at RM1.15 per share to raise RM85mil; undertake a 160 million preference share sale to raise RM160mil; and sell new shares to institutional investors at RM1.25 a share to raise RM120mil

They could not have made it more complicated, can they? Honestly, I think they are very clever in doing this deal (strategically, it is also alright). Scomi wants the marine assets of Chuan Hup, but do not want to hurt its balance sheet by taking more debts. So, they go through this very indirect way - using a JEWERY shop to buy marine assets. We really need a real definition for 'friendly party'. This is not just friendly party, this is 'fuck buddy'.

Clever deal, but too obvious to expose our PM's son's influence.....

I wonder why the MEER's family (who has been building the Habib brand for 50 years) will accept this deal because they do not get cash, they are diluted in Habib from 60%+ to around 10%....Don't tell me he LOVES marine business and see the OPPORTUNITY..

How about Minority Shareholders? Well if you have been one of those who LOVE rumours and bot Habib before its suspension, May your lucky star continue be with you...... the last traded price of Habib is RM 2.60. The issuance price to Scomi is RM 1.15......

Given that the tenat of 'buy on rumours, sell on news' never fails in KLSE, how much do you think Habib will fall?

Singapore Project (I) - Water Front Living

If you ask 10 people, 9 would tell you that they would like their house facing the sea (er....until the tsunami struck recently). This Caribbean At Keppel Bay project in Singapore is one that we can only dream of in Malaysia (well, first of all, there isn't a sea near KL):-

Only 10 minutes drive to Raffles Place, the financial district
Fronting the sea and all units have sea view
Sit 'north' and face 'south' - the chinese believe that a good house must face the south
Master plan project with marina water front living (but I dun know whether you would get sea sick by simply staying there though)

If you take a look at the master plan below..(bloody hell, I dun know how to post 2 pictures into the same blog and it took me nearly 20 min but to no avail %#%&%*$*#*#), all units are facing the sea and fronting the private water way...isn't that cool? The selling point is the sea...so the architect did everything they could to maximise that.

I also like a couple of other features:-

You can log on to your smart home system and monitor your kids' activities - there are cameras every where in the project (monitor kids my foot, it is for checking out bikini girls....)
Smart home system to pay all your bills......and book amenities (this is what I call smart home mannnnn)
Private lift to your units (ahem, imagine you come back from a fine dine with your partner, then you two can make out make out in the lift, tearing off her bra...then ....tiu lor, this blog is getting more and more errotic...)

BawangMerah, I share the frustration and I know why. At times, we play like shit because we have players like Traore and Biscan....

I read this in soccernet this morning and the post immediately made my day:-

I think Traore is still ok, at least he is tall. He tried his best even though he did not defend well for the goal which they conceded. He is just not good enough. Biscan is useless and he thinks he is good. If I were 2 years younger, I can play better football than him. He misses passes, he was slow, clumsy and committed unnecessary foul (got away with it....).

To night, we must be diligent. We have to continue namo namo so that Everton will lose like hell.

When it comes to football, I am bloody biased. I make so much pocket money on other matches but loss them all on .....on........LIVERPOOL..... because somehow I 'hope' that they would win certain matches even though they were 2:0 down. The 'hope' somehow turn into 'belief' and ultimately becomes a MISTAKE.

Losing money on your favourite football team is like buying shoes for your gf/wife, THERE IS NO BOTTOM.....(%#&^%#%@%*&%$@%*&$@$^) and as long as you 'derive pleasure' or want to 'derive pleasure', you will continue ploughing money into it....

I am making the same mistakes here, I'd say Liverpool will make it to the 4th place (bloody hell, we have to celebrate simply because we are no 4 in the league. Man U calls it a disaster when they finish second...). This is a critical spot because if we do, we are taking it from EVERTON. I don't know why I am against Everton. But all the people in the Liverpool city are split between the RED and the BLUE. So, I guess I should do the same....(I told you I am not rationale lor..).

Bayan Baru flats in Penang declared unsafe

PENANG: A five-storey walk-up block of flats in Bayan Baru has been declared unsafe for occupation after the building was found to have tilted more than one degree. The Penang Development Corporation (PDC) which issued the warning has advised the 180 residents to move out after receiving a report a few days ago from the Malaysian Public Works Institute (Ikram) which had been commissioned to carry out checks since 2003.......

Can you imagine this:- you have been staying at this flat and there is this crack since 1989 (I am not an engineer, but even my cat knows that when there is a crack, it means that there is a high possibility that something is wrong with the settlement i.e land) and you have to continue staying there until 2003 when this dude from Ikram decided to come and check. The guy (Ikram lor) never come back for 2 years. Today, the government come and tell you that the flat where you have been staying, complaining (I bet they have started complaining since ages), worrying is actually unsafe.

I dun know about you. but if I were you, I will immediately kneel down and thank my lucky star, fast for seven days and become a vegetarian for the rest of my life for still being alive......

Must someone die before the government take swift action? Don't we need to be proactive? No? me just kay poh? or too paranoid?...no..? Is that just me or everyone feels the same?...it is just me isn't it?....

Amnesty for illegal foreign workers and their employers extended indefinitely
PUTRAJAYA: The amnesty for illegal foreign workers and their employers that ended on Monday has been extended indefinitely. Operations carried out to nab the workers and those who employ them, which kicked off from Tuesday, have now been changed to operations to advise those involved. Home Minister Datuk Azmi Khalid, who announced the extension, said it had been agreed to by the Cabinet at its meeting today.

“The operations will go on but instead of detaining them, we will finger-print them, advise them to go back voluntarily and then release them.

“However, if the same workers are caught the second time, we will deport them and blacklist their names so that they can never ever enter this country again,” he told reporters after attending the Cabinet meeting.

We might as well take the illegal workers to McDonald, buy them the value meal (If they happened to be Buddhist, dun buy them the beef burger but the McChicken instead) and talk to them about Liverpool before writing down their names, finger printing them and releasing them

I am not a cold blooded person and understand the Tsunami thing. If you have been reading this blog, you would know that I am a very caring, sweet and modest person (TNS, Junior, I have to go vomit now!)...kita orang malaysia bukan orang ganas.... Then I read about Liverpool coming from behind (TC, not what you think....) to beat Charlton 2:1 and claimed a very important 3 points. .......

Rafael Banitez is definitely a much better manager than Houllier. If Liverpool were still under Houllier, they surely would have lost the match. I wrote in Nomore forum that there are no more than 5 players in Liverpool who are good or fit enough to play....I was not joking. But I am happy that Hyppia and Garcia and Smicer are coming back....

Blind seller: I was manhandled
KUALA LUMPUR: Blind Francis Selvam, 45, earns a living selling sweets and tissue paper in public places. Last Wednesday, City Hall enforcement officers roughly handcuffed him and hit him when, confused, he tried to resist being pushed into a lorry during a raid on beggars and illegal immigrants in Jalan P. Ramlee here. He is still not sure which agency, out of the three involved, was responsible for his rough treatment as he could not see them. The three government agencies were the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Social Welfare Department and Immigration Department.

“This is the fourth time I am being arrested within a year for selling sweets. I asked the Malaysian Association for the Blind if I could get a licence to sell sweets and they told me there was no licence issued for this type of business. “I wish the Government would provide a licence for the blind to legally sell items to the public,” he told The Star. He makes about RM20 a day. “How can they arrest me when I am making an honest living selling sweets?” asked Selvam, who is on medication for epilepsy.

City Hall said Selvam was arrested for begging under the directive of a Social Welfare Department official. The department’s Federal Territory enforcement officer for beggars, Suhaimi Sujak, said they received reports that Selvam was asking for money and did not have his identity card with him. Selvam had left his MyKad at home but was able to show them his Kuala Lumpur Hospital card.

Selvam developed a brain tumour when he was six and surgery left him blind. Due to a weakness in his leg, he also has been walking with a limp since 1966. He is appealing to the authorities not to arrest him again and other blind people like him for trying to earn a living by selling sweets.

For goodness sake, I hope that our authorities (ALL 3 of them) could leave this man - blind, lame, has epilepsy and brain tumor, ALONE. No matter how rude, annoying or disturbing this Mr. Selvam is, please have mercy and leave him alone.....

Now, I want to laugh at these 3 agencies. If they used their BRAIN during the operasi...this thing will not be so embarrassing....

Firstly, I now know that Indonesia Government do not use email or fax. They have to send someone to DELIVER a letter (they might as well use pigeon). AND THIS, puts our government reputation at risk (if there is any left....we are so used to 'just toking, no action'). If I remember rightly, the amnesty was supposed to end last year. Then there was an extension. Then, there was another extension. Now, there is a seven days extension and the plan has been postponed indefinitely.

I do not understand, what took the Indonesia Government so long to come out with their view?

Btw, do you think they will attach the letter with a CNY card saying 'Gong Xi Fa Chai'?

I really could not afford to blog today because I am rushing a report. Then i accidentally read about this:-

KUALA LUMPUR: Companies should consider it “a kind of national service” if they form a consortium to clean and beautify Sungai Bunos, Sungai Gombak and Sungai Klang which flow through the heart of the city. “It will be an entirely private sector initiative. I am sure the companies will not mind contributing towards making the rivers, and Kuala Lumpur in general, clean and beautiful again,” said Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told reporters after launching a book called Kuala Lumpur, Corporate Capital Cultural Cornucopia at the Islamic Arts Museum here yesterday.

I think (I am not 100% certain), KL is the only city in the world whose property sector does not capitalise the RIVER in the city. I am not surprised though. If you have seen how ugly our sungei klang etc in the city, you will say that 'This is not river. This is longkang.' AND there is absolutely nothing a property developer could do about it.

If you have been to Singapore, you'd know how well they have 'used' the river. Clarke Quey, Reverside Walk, River Point View and Boat Quey are all HIGH COMMERCIAL value places. You can spend an entire afternoon (or night) there and do not mind paying $12 for a glass of beer when it is only $8 else where. Why? Because these developments are nice. You would really like to spend the whole afternoon there chit chatting, smoking, drinking, eating, and watching girls....(btw, Brewerkz is nice. There is a lot of girls there. Not necessrily the best but for some reason, they wear very little...you dun mind how they look after 2 pints of Golden Aile).

The same thing could be said with Yara River in Melbourne, HungPu Jiang in Shanghai, Thames River in London etc.

When I ask you 'When you think of Sungei Klang, what else come into your mind?'

'Nothing'? 'Rubbish'? 'Sammy Vellu'?

I went to the Traffic Police Singapore HQ this morning to sort out my driving license issue. Since they decided not pick up my call yesterday, I was all gear up to give them hell. When I was there, I found out that my Malaysian license had expired. So I said "tiu lor....I have to come again....". But I decided to give it a try and prayed damn hard that the girl (not auntie this time) would not spot it. SURE ENOUGH, she found it. So I said to myself again "tiu lor....I have to come again...". She called her supervisor and told him that my malaysian driving license had JUST expired, if he could counter sign my form, there should be no problem. The supervisor looked at me and said ' Never do this again ha' and signed the form. Of course I said 'Certainly, SIR' (but deep down in my heart I was like, wei...who wants to apply license twice?). The whole process including the Q time was only half an hour. Most importantly, the girl and the supervisor did not give me that kind of look like they had done me a big favour. They just got on with it......

I felt so ashamed again......Here is the guy who had been cursing you since 24 hours ago...now you treat me like this....sigh.....So I decided to look at how many laws (Christian 'rules') that I have broken:-

I think I am getting old. I bitch about everything. Or I am just in a bad mood? I dun know......

I have been trying to convert my Malaysian license to the Singapore license since last year but still have not gotten it (I am not kidding. But last year november la)

Let me teach you something new (but I doubt it would be useful to you....but please read on anyway...). If you want to convert your Malaysian license to the Singapore one, you have to first sit for the Basic Theory Test. To do that, you have to go to this ulu place called Ang Moh Kio which is just about 2 million miles away from where I stay. I went there last Nov and told the auntie that I wanted to sit for the test. Aunty said, ok, the test date is 4 Jan 2005. Wei, hello, that is 2 months later wor? Yeah, but that is the only available date.

Since I need a driving license to sell my butt (dun ask me about the relationship of the 2), I had no choice but to wait for 2 months. I sat for the exam on 4 Jan and when I was leaving the test center, I asked the uncle.

"Uncle, when will I received the result?"

"2 weeks"

I fell off my chair and vomited. Uncle did not give a damn.

OK, I waited for 2 weeks and did not receive a damn thing except some very annoying credit card bills and cable TV bill (bloody hell, not even the Victoria Secret brochure sent to previous tenant). Did not receive.

Called the center, Auntie 2 said she could not do anything and asked me to call this number in Singapore 6547 6037 to check it out.

I HAVE BEEN CALLING THIS NUMBER SINCE THIS MORNING AND NO ONE PICKED UP.

(now I know why I am so cranky)
